Hi,
I've had my Fitbit Charge 2 for 3 weeks now and worn it to bed every night, and it's always tracked my sleep, including stages. It's been perfect. But last night it didn't appear to record anything at all. It's Friday now, and there's been nothing recorded for Thursday night. The battery hasn't been low and I haven't been messing with the Bluetooth or anything else. I'd really like to have this data because it affects my weekly average.
Please can you help me figure this out? Thanks

Hey @rtothegibbo, let me give you a warm welcome to the Community! Don't you worry, in order to avoid this from happening again, I will suggest you to restart your Charge 2 by following these instructions. Also, review these factors that may affect your sleep details:
- If you slept in a position that prevented your tracker from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your tracker higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
- If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your tracker to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
- If you slept for less than 3 hours.
Thanks for your help @kk15405!
Let us know how it goes!

Thank you both for the replies and the welcome 🙂
After the Thursday night where nothing was tracked, the Fitbit has been tracking everything without a problem, and I haven't even tried anything to fix it, so it was quite bizarre that it missed the night's sleep. It was a pretty long sleep too, so it's very confusing that it was missed. I don't think there was any issue with the position of the tracker, nor was I using the Begin Sleep Now setting.
It's a shame that there's no way to retrieve the data from that period and transfer it into sleep data. For me, it's important to have a complete set of data, as anything less skews the averages, so if it fails to capture one night, it's just as bad as missing 5 nights. Anyway, as it has been fine for the last few nights, I won't try any fixes yet, and I'll be back to update if anything changes
Cheers 🙂

I had the same problem last night (8/27 - 8/28. I was wearing my Charge 2 properly, and it had been working fine in the past. I'll wait to see what happens, and restart it if needed, but thought you should know this is happening to more than just one person. Thanks.

Hey @rtothegibbo, thanks for your response, and the update! Sounds good that your Charge 2 is tracking your sleep well now. I hope it keeps working without inconvenience. Now in regards of your previous sleep data, it is not possible to retrieve it, that is correct, but remember that you can manually log your sleep. 😉
@Sandy7, welcome aboard! I can suggest you to restart it, so we can avoid this from happening again. Just remember that the sleep that wasn't track, won't appear on your account, but you can manually log it.
Let me know how it goes guys!

Hey again. When I opened the Fitbit app today, my sleep once again didn't appear. However, I side scrolled back through the days using the < > buttons, and as soon as I tapped back onto today, it briefly said "analyzing your sleep" before finally showing me my sleep from last night! I don't know if the scrolling had anything to do with it, or there was just a delay, but hey it might work for somebody else.
My sleep is showing as particularly restless from last night, with an awake period from approx 01:30-03:00 which I don't remember happening. It actually logged 2 separate sleeps, instead of one continuous one. I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not, but that's the update! On every other day since the last update, it's worked perfectly. Cheers!

Thanks for getting back to me @rtothegibbo! Maybe you were not resting enough during that night, that is why your sleep appears as divided, because you were moving a lot so the Charge 2 tracked that period as awake. On the other side, sounds good that most of your sleep has been logged correctly.
Let me know if you have further questions!

My charge 2 stopped tracking my sleep completely. I’ve re-set it everyday for the past week and no luck. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app and still nothing.
Fitbit customer service chat is useless. Poor quality watch and company.

When that’s happened to me, I estimated my sleep start/stop times using the “add sleep log.” This trigger the FitBit to pull data, and typically - but not always - results in a data set. Then I fine tune by adjusting the start/stop based on the red “awake”. It’s not perfect, but better than listing the data.
