Charge 2 died all of the sudden and the screen is totally blank

The Fitbit was charged fully on Friday but last night it showed a flat battery icon and just died. The app shows a full battery. The screen is completely black. It won’t recharge at all.  My charge 2 is 17 months old. Disappointed. Any suggestions?

My Charge 2 did the same thing and just over 2 years old.  First the display was broken up, then yesterday it completely died. Screen is completely blank when plugged in and I've tried to re-boot 3x as per instructions.  Absolutely nothing.  Is there anything at all that can be done? A new battery? This is very frustrating - I thought it would last longer than that.

My Charge 2 is quickly draining down the battery after a full battery charge. The two green lights stay on very bright and the Charge 2 is very hot to the touch. I have followed the instructions to reboot the Charge 2 but it doesn't seem to work. I don't know what to do since everything else seems to be working fine but a full battery only lasts for around 15 minutes before it goes completely dead.  This problem just started happening today with no warning.

>From what I’ve understood from other Charge 2 owners, it doesn’t last much
over 2 years. Planned obsolescence? Perhaps, but I bit the bullet and
bought a Charge 4. Wow! It’s so much better! And it’s waterproof to a
certain depth, far below my range.
So just do it!

Same here. I've restarted it several times to no avail! What else can be done? The screen shows a battery icon with an exclamation point on it. It will not charge and will not turn on or track like normal. The phone app reads full battery.

Planned obsolescence, I think. My charge 2 lasted 2-1/2 yrs. I will say I
like the 4 very much, though I hated having to spend any money.

Bite the bullet!

About 2.5 years for the two fitbit Charges I have had. I too bought the 4. Love the slightly bigger screen and it is much more responsive to my wrist movement when lookin at time or stats. Also got the Sport band which reduces sweating under the band. Bo

Hi I had about 30% charge at approx 1600 but noticed that my time was wrong so synced again to my phone which it acknowledges to be at 1605 but since then my charge has been dead and now will not charge.

I have tried all the ideas in this post but to no avail.

any other thoughts please?

Charge batteries have about 2 year Lifespan. Indications are that you are at the end of that device life. I have had 3 Charges. Wife had 3 other devices from Fitbit. All batteries quit in 2-2.5 years.

Thanks for the heads up. I certainly didn’t realise there was a life span.

Also be sure to download all updates to your device. My wife didn’t update her device one time and the update was for a battery issue. The battery ran down and without the update, it wouldn’t charge.

This same issue happened to my versa 2 this morning. Fully charged last night and died with no warning this morning. I just bought it in May! I tried your instructions with no avail. It won't come back to life. Just seeing the red "dead battery" symbol. My husband is going to kill me if I don't figure this out. I begged him to let me buy one!! Please help!!

I resorted to buying a new Fitbit. Was not able to fix the one that died.

If you have time. You can contact Fitbit and send it in. We did that once but it took weeks for them to replace our unit.

Hi
I’m sorry to hear about your Fitbit. Bad news when it happened to me I was told it was at the end of its life. So I bought a new one.

Look at Charge 4. They seem to be on sale everywhere. Seem a little more stable than earlier Charges.
