my fitbit was working fine. Suddenly on August 23, it stopped syncing with phone. I cannot get it to communicate anything. A friend looked at both and says the blue tooth on the fitbit may be turned off. I do not know how to turn it on. Please help. over 2 weeks and no change.

@elizabethabby Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!

Let me help you with your Charge 2 not syncing with your phone. I want to clarify that the bluetooth can't be turn off on the Charge 2. You don't mention the exact model of the phone you have. Which phone are you using? Is it compatibleYou can try the following:

  • Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  • Restart your phone and restart your device
  • Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  • You can find additional suggestions here.

Let me know how it goes.

The bluetooth and location are on but the phone (Android 9) can't even seem to find the tracker.

If I try from the Fitbit App, it sees the Charge 2, "We found your tracker" and I get a code.  But after filling out this code nothing happens. I get the advises: "Make sure your tracker is charged and turned on" [it is], "If there are other tracker nearby, move them away" [we dit] and "Turn off Bluetooth on your mobile device, then turn it on again" [I did several times, even rebooted the phone]. All this didn't help.

We've had a new App update, but this also didn't help

I have a Galaxy J3. I have had the phone 2 years, it has plenty of memory
and data on it. I have had the Fitbit for 18 months and it has worked fine
until now, just suddenly stopped syncing. I realize I now have a new Fitbit
board and it does not sync. The new board came up after I uninstalled and
reinstalled the Fitbit app to my phone, hoping that would fix it. I am
thoroughly disgusted and disappointed with it. Ready now to try another
device and it won't be a Fitbit.

Which phone? There's a known problem with the A8 (2018) discussed in the Samsung community. I've had weeks without it syncing (although still telling me about text messages etc) but I had another security update today which has fixed it.
