Charge 2 failing to synchronise

I have had a great experience with my Fitbit Charge 2 since purchasing it in 2018. The tracker was great, the app ran well on my Pixel 2XL, and over the months, there were new great features introduced such as the Sleep Score (and also irritating ones like the constant advertising of Fitbit Premium). I was a Fitbit supporter among my friends, until a week plus back.

 

A couple of weeks back, I started noticing that synchronizing required multiple attempts but I brushed it off as possibly having too many Bluetooth devices around me (not that this was a factor for the past 2 years).

A week or so back, successful synchronizes dropped to once every 2-3 days.

And since Sunday, my beloved Fitbit 2 has stopped synchronizing successfully, despite being able appear on my phone's Bluetooth device (indicating that it is still working fine with no hardware issues).

 

I have tried most of the methods suggested online - rebooting my tracker, rebooting my phone, unpairing on Bluetooth, even to downloading the Windows 10 app on my laptop to see if it was possible for my Charge 2 to pair; but it was all to naught.

 

Looking online, I noticed that I am not the only one, and that it appears to be a software issue.

But what is most striking is the lack of response from Fitbit (the company and any of its employees/support). It feels like Fitbit has forgotten its original roots as a community player, and has placed itself amongst the other commercial, money-grubbing corporates with laser-focus on the bottom line only. It remains to be seen if Fitbit will respond/provide support to its users/supporters. Until then, I can no longer touch my heart and share about Fitbit or any of its devices with the people around me.

I started a walking program about 3 weeks ago and NOW my Fitbit isn't syncing when I really need it!   I have a Pixel 3aXL.  Its been a great device and it makes me wonder if they just want us to buy a new one!
