Charge 2 fails to record calories and steps on workouts

For a few weeks now my Charge 2 doesn't record calories or steps for workouts.  I've restarted it and it works for a few days then fails again.  It happens mostly on workouts but has also failed on a run.  I've reinstalled the app, reset up Bluetooth and restarted the Charge several times.  it works for about 3 days then fails again.  I'm syncing it with an iPhone 11.  This is getting very frustrating.  Does anyone have any other ideas please?

Thanks for the details shared in your post and for already trying to resolve the issue. I am sorry to hear about the frustration this situation has caused. I would like to confirm how do you track your exercises - using an Exercise app on your tracker or do you let your device to automatically recognize the activity via SmartTrack? Is your Charge 2 not counting steps at all? I will be glad to investigate further.
