This morning I worked out at the gym on an elliptical machine for 35 minutes. The elliptical is equipped with metal contacts that, when gripped, measure heart rate. At the end of my workout, the elliptical said that I had achieved a maximum heart rate of 143 bpm and an average of 126 bpm. In contrast, the rate as recorded by my Charge 2 never exceeded 112 bpm. Which is more accurate?

@BuffOrpington A warm welcome to our Community!
Let me help you with your heart rate reading on your Charge 2. I personally do elliptical machine (have used LifeFitness and Precor) and have always seen them be equal or just (literally) a 1 or 2 bpm difference between them. I can't talk about the machine you are using but for your Charge 2 I suggest you clean the back of your device with cotton and rubbing alcohol and restart it. Turn the heart rate off, save and sync then turn it on save and sync again. Also check these tips to improve the heart rate reading on your device.
Let me know how it goes.
