I have a charge 2 and the heart rate monitor is not working. The sensors on the back are flashing but nothing is registering. Just stopped working suddenly.

Good to hear you got it going again, as riule of good housekeeping I always reboot any of my devices after each full charge.

Hi @Sharon_mcgibney something I could suggest for you to check is to go into your Charge 2 settings in the App and make sure your heart rate is turned to on or auto. Even if its set to either try switching it off and then back on again and resyncing your tracker to see if it helps.

Got it working! Did a soft reboot. Plugged into charger and held the button for 10 count. Not sure if that’s what Tony suggested but  it’s now working.
thanks

I tried all the solutions on this board as well and went through the help online with a representative before it was escalated and still no result last week. I finally noticed that the day that my heart rate stopped working, a new version of the app was available in the apple store as well as the android play store and I believe when the new firmware was installed on the device (i have two different devices, an iPad and my phone is a 'droid to sync with). Updating, then restting the fitbit made it work.  I'm disappointed that the hour of troubleshotting with the rep didn't yield this solution, but I'm glad it works now.

The lights on the back of my Fitbit Charge 2 srarted shining very brightly. So brightly that it would light up an entire room.

I put it in the charger and did a restart/reboot/reset as other members suggested here. That did not fix the problem. It did not help.

I changed the heart rate settings on the app that was also suggested here in the forums. I changed it to auto, then rebooted, then refreshed. That did not help.

I left it an a drawer so the battery on the Charge 2 could completely discharge. I went back a week later and the battery was completely discharged so I put it on the charger and did a reboot. Now the heart rate lights do not come on at all.

I got in chat with Fitbit customer support. For nearly an hour Fitbit customer support copy and pasted instructions on how to reboot the Charge 2, change heart rate app settings, uninstalled and install app on my phone, and how to wear the Fitbit properly on my wrist.

Fitbit customer support alleged that if a customer doesn't wear the fitbit properly that will cause the lights to not work. I've been wearing fitbit products for a couple of years and I'm certain I know how to wear a fitbit watch. Therefore improper placement on my wrist is not the problem

The display has begun to get very dim. The display is now missing pixels. My Charge 2 will not hold a charge for a full day.

Even though the Fitbit rep who I chatted with said that she would escalate my complaint, I've heard nothing from Fitbit.

It is clear that there is no real customer support. It seems to be no coincidence that many others are having similar problems.

Hopefully people who are considering buying new Fitbit products are paying attention to the fact that there is no real customer support for Fitbit products. When you have an issue with their product, they want the customer to buy a new Fitbit product. I am not going to buy a new Fitbit product when the one I have already never worked as advertised.

Current issues aside (dying Fitbit), my phone is listed on the compatible/supported listed however my Charge 2 never synced with my phone. I'm sick of the forums and Fitbit chat reps copying and pasting the same instructions to reboot, refresh, uninstalled app, reinstall app, reboot, and refresh. Admit the product doesn't work as advertised and take no supported phones off the list.

Fitbit is pretty good at making a product that functions for the length of the warranty. Outside of the warranty, there is zero customer support. Will not buy another Fitbit.

I've been experiencing similar issues since 4/18.

My heart rate monitor only works intermittently. There are large gaps in the heart rate data graphs, and for two days it barely worked at all. I've also noticed that the green lights on the underside of the Fitbit have been acting strange as well. There are long periods where they just stay on solid green, even when I'm not wearing the band. And at some points not only are they on but they're so bright that they're practically two green flashlights. Usually the lights are much dimmer and pulsate, and eventually shut off when I'm not wearing the band.

Along with the heart rate monitor issues, the battery life for my Fitbit has dropped considerably. I used to get a few days on a charge and now it's down to only a matter of hours. I charged it fully overnight last night, took it off the charger around 8:30am this morning and by 3pm it was dead. This was never an issue before the heart rate monitor problem. Whatever the issue is, it appears to be depleting the battery faster than usual and it has pretty much rendered my Fitbit unusable.

I have tried various solutions posted throughout the help forums such as disabling and re-enabling the heart rate monitor (syncing in between) and resetting the Fitbit, but neither worked. I have yet to jump into a support chat, but it sounds like that's just going to be a waste of my time, which is very disappointing to hear.

I have the same problem. Heart Rate monitor on charge 2 is not working. The settings are on Auto - was always on Auto. Green LED lights are flashing though.
