Charge 2 is discoverable via bluetooth but will not connect

About 1 week ago, my fitbit (charge 2) stopped syncing automatically. I followed all of the troubleshooting steps (restarting my phone, the fitbit, the app, bluetooth, re-downloading the app, disconnecting the fitbit from the app). I tried all of these multiple times to no avail. Currently, the fitbit is disconnected and will not reconnect no matter what I do.

Does this mean that the fitbit is broken? I can't understand why this would have happened.

@Clecle, welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well!

Let me help you with your Charge 2 not syncing with your phone and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. Which phone are you using? Is it compatibleYou can try the following:

  • Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  • Restart your phone and restart your device
  • Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  • You can find additional suggestions here.

Let me know how it goes.

I’m using a samsung A8 which has successfully connected in the past. Restarting everything isn’t working. When I check the permissions, while location services are on, bluetooth isn’t even an option. Seems weird because it has connected to bluetooth before, so not sure why it wouldn't be listed. However, when I reviewed this comment: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Android-App/Android-syncing-Permissions-Location/td-p/1622501, I noticed that it has all the same options as my phone (again, no bluetooth is listed) so I doubt that's the issue.

Is this a ploy by Fitbit to get rid of older devices and force people to upgrade?
