Charge 2 keeps disconnecting from iPhone and will not sync

I am using my Charge 2 after a long hiatus because my Charge 4 broke and I have to send it back for repair.  My Charge 2 does not stay paired to my phone.  When I try to connect it via Bluetooth, the phone says to make sure it is turned on and in range - meantime I am holding the phone in the hand with the Fitbit on my wrist.  This morning had to turn off the phone and restart the Charge 2, to get it to connect.  Now it is disconnected again.  I saw there was a thread about syncing, that said the problem was solved, but it does not appear to actually be solved.  (I was having a similar problem with my Charge 4 before the band broke.)  Oh, and the GPS connection with my phone doesn’t work either.  Only 3.83 miles of my 16 mile bike ride were recorded.  What’s up, Fitbit?  Not a happy camper here.
