Charge 2 - no exercise showing on app

My app has stopped recognising any activity. Last weekend everything was working fine then 2 days later my tracker is showing calories burnt after a class but on syncing to the app…no exercise registers.  I have done all the recommended stuff…opening/closing/deleting apps and tracker and still nothing. 

Does anyone have any suggestions/ideas/advice please?

FYI - pretty much everything about the app has failed in the last several months. Sleep? not accurate. HR? way off. Also, app does not track exercise if switched on from device. Even when I manually enter the workout time in, the HR is not captured aside from a graph. Even though I know I've worked at peak and moderate - the app always shows 100% light. The only thing it does correctly now is count steps.

I have an iPhone 12 iOS 18.1.1 running Fitbit App version 4.34. Activity glitching started in August 2024. No activities will sync except an auto-recognized walk. Heart rate data shows up on graph under "Heart" but does not transfer to "Time in heart rate zones" - this reflects "No data"

Seems charge 2 and Fitbit in general suck. Not only does the exercise not sync but now I lost the notifications again like with texts or calls or anything on the calendar. I got it back for like 3 days

Definitely should be fortunate that they noticed.  I know, right!?  The moderators have been busy and didn't have a chance to notice. This is only the most popular thread on this forum, and on the top for the last 4 months.  The moderators and everybody at Fitbit have had to deal with Labor day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanza, New Years and whatever other critically important holidays before they could get to this.

The disappearing workouts started after an App update sometime in August 2024.  Many people have said they will move to another brand if the problem was not resolved by the end of the year.

I’m not hopeful for a fix. I have called customer service 3x since September. Each time they claimed to not be aware of this issue, even after I sent them the link to this forum. The last time I called they said they would research and get back to me. They never did. 


Very sad to leave as I’ve used Fitbit religiously for the last 5 years. I just don’t think Google cares about the product and I think the way they are trying force customers to new models is unethical.

It still works as an altimeter— which is all I use it for anymore. Seems that feature is getting harder and harder to find in the sub-$500 tracker market. And it seems to manage counting steps more or less accurately… most of the time. Or at least as accurately as any device does.

This seems to be happening a lot, from the online questions I'm seeing, but what is going on w/ the FitBit app? After using this for YEARS, the app is no longer properly tracking exercises that I am tracking manually on my FitBit, ie: today's treadmill 41 minute treadmill exercise was tracked on my FitBit but is not showing up on the app. Saturday's 60 minute "workout" was tracked on my FitBit but is not showing up on the app. I've checked and I have the latest version of the app, which I'm suspecting has a bug. I've restarted my Iphone. I've tried everything suggested. Who can help?

What's the latest on this problem? It's clearly still not been resolved. I have the latest app. I've restarted by phone, my FitBit, etc. and the issue remains.

Due to curiosity and boredom, I thought I'd try it again after a few months.  Turned GPS and bluetooth on on phone.  Used Charge 2 to activate a run activity.  Saw that the Charge 2 was tracking run and GPS was in use.  The phone was also showing that Fitbit was using GPS.  Ran for 6 minutes and stopped activity on Charge 2.  This run exercise did not get saved in Fitbit.

I wonder if Fitbit/Google is putting in any effort to resolve this.  Any effort that can be tracked that is.

It’s 2025 now. This has been a long time to have this fundamental feature not working. Are they ignoring us?
