Charge 2 - no exercise showing on app

My app has stopped recognising any activity. Last weekend everything was working fine then 2 days later my tracker is showing calories burnt after a class but on syncing to the app…no exercise registers.  I have done all the recommended stuff…opening/closing/deleting apps and tracker and still nothing.

Does anyone have any suggestions/ideas/advice please?

I don’t know where it came from. A friend didn’t want one that was given to him and he gave it to me. I’ve had it about 5 years.

---

20 minutes walking on the treadmill and 10 minute walk just now - nothing. It only shows 1,500+ calories burned and 13 active minutes. Very disappointing

The bigger picture here for me is Fitbit has proven themselves unreliable to resolve issues. This is a red flag for me moving forward with any fitbit products or tracker upgrades. Activity trackers had become an essential part of my life (our lives I assume) and this frustrates me that I rely on my Charge 2 to improve my health and suddenly they just quit. Who is to assure me now that any Fitbit tracker wont do the same? This is not just an upgrade issue, it is so easy to purchase the newest most advanced Fitbit tracker but this is a whole lot bigger, this is a whole company issue. Bye  Fitbit.

My phone had the updated pushed to it (26.1).
That's what I thought about the data. One would think if/when they choose
to fix it, our workouts can be restored to view on the app. Wish they had
kept the online dashboard rather than dropping that (likely linked to our
issues).
Not sure how much longer I'll wait but if a fix does not come soon, I'll
not be promoting any google/pixel device. I had been considering a new
fitbit for Christmas, that may change.

Auto-recorded a treadmill interval workout as a "run" yesterday, some aspects are still working/kinda.

---

When I look at the details of the run (aka - treadmill interval) it recorded the 24 minutes as 100% light (Time in each zone). So still not right since the graph shows that I was mostly in the vigorous / peak zone.

My Charge 2 is still not working -- only capturing random activity as a walk.  The other day it thought some of my random daily activity was a mountain bike ride.  And I cannot recall doing anything close to that type of biking action. My base data is being captured though. My Sleep Data and steps are all good but the activity section where it captures your manually tracked activities and exercise is not capturing the reality like elliptical or weights.  Given all this trouble, I am thinking I wold like to save all my Fitbit data but has anyone done this? Exported or saved all their lifetimes Fitbit data? and how can it be used if downloaded? Does it come in the form of an excel spreadsheet? Can you transfer it to a different type of device?

I had mine interpret me mowing the grass as “Outdoor Bike”, I guess because of the vibration in the mower handle. I found that amusing. Definitely get a workout mowing our yard (I get 2 flights of stairs just from walking up the driveway), but nothing on the order of a mountain bike ride.

I had the same sort of thought. I got mine mainly to have a reliable measurement of my heart rate — if not necessarily “accurate” then at least “precise”. But there have been several instances where I looked at the number it was giving me and had something unprintable to say bout the accuracy of it. Never having used a tracker before, I got a refurbished one, and I get that it’s an older model, but now that I’ve integrated that into my routine, there are some basic functions I feel it’s reasonable to expect to work. And it’s not like I’m so invested in Fitbit that moving to something else is going to be a hardship, but I need ot know that what I switch to is gonna be better.

Android 4.26.1, recently available didn't fix the issue of manually entered exercises not uploading either. I opened a FB msgr chat with them and they asked me questions and for a screenshot but then ghosted me. I msgd back this morning advising that it's still not working.  Ugh.

Having the same issue for the past three weeks. Today updated to 4.26 and now it's not even saving manually added workouts. I've done all of the suggested steps (reboot, turn off then on bluetooth, etc). Has anyone heard any new info on when/if this might be resolved? Is there a good customer service contact?

Best Answer

I do not know where there is a customer service contact on this website to help resolve the issue.

Now I'm not even getting auto-detected workouts recorded.

I was able to reach support via the Chat option. According to the rep I spoke with, Fitbit is aware of this issue and working to resolve it. He had no idea of the time frame. I suggested that customer service  announce that to the community or somewhere on their webpages so consumers know what is happening, but he didn't sound hopeful that would happen.

Thanks for letting us know. They should also mention that on the app somewhere should you make contact with that person again.

Just found out from a friend of mine that this same issue is also affecting Versa 1 to 3. Since around the start of September. He is posting feedbacks on the Versa board.

Well mine’s just learned a new trick. Yesterday I did a two part stair climb and walk, which went a bit over 2 hours, and initially it was auto detected as 2:02 and 1088 calories. Later on, it apparently figured out there was a break between the two periods, which is fine… except for the fact that rather than just split it up, it deleted the first 1:24 and 752 calories from the workout. The total still includes this, but the back end just wiped out almost an hour and a half of work. And I won’t even get into what it did with the heart monitoring.
It’s interesting how this only seems to impact the older models. Almost as if they were trying to force you to upgrade or something.

Or it shows a completely incompetent software development group. Must be
using AI to "improve" their code.

They are clearly using AI to respond to our complaints.

They msgd me back to say that 4.27 is available and to update/force stop ... And while I can now see past steps and KMs it's still not syncing exercises. This was on my iPad. 4.27 wasn't available for Android yet.  They apologized repeated again that they are working on it 😞
