Installing the app update from the App Store

Mine stopped working several days ago and after doing all the things Fitbit recommends (restarting the Fitbit, rebooting the iPad, disconnecting and reconnecting the Bluetooth). None of these helped me. After reading something on this site, I dis connected my Fitbit from the app and reset it up. This seemed to work, I did lose all my data that hadn’t been sync. After less then 24 hours it did the same thing, I’ve disconnected and reconnected the fit bit from the app 5 or 6 times over the past 4-5 days, losing data each time.
then today, based on another comment on this site, I decided to go look at the App Store to see when the last time this app was updated on my IPad — my iPad is supposed to automatically do all updates. Well the last update in my list of apps for the fit bit app said it was updated 5 days ago. Just about the time my problems started, so I clicked on the app update in the list and it took me to the store (I wanted to see what they updated for any further clues). At the store the app didn’t say “open” like and updated app will say — it said UPDATE. So I clicked on the update button, I took 2-3 minutes to complete the update - when the button said open,I opened it and could tell the app was in the process of syncing!! All of today’s data is there. I’m not sure if this is going to be the final fix, but it’s been reacting so much better than it has for 5 days.
hope this helps

Mine stopped synching around 6th Oct. I tried reinstalling the app and then re-establishing the Bluetooth connection with my phone (Android -Pixel 3a) but nothing has worked. I also tried connecting to Bluetooth with a different phone (Android - Sony L1) and using a laptop but nothing... This weekend I tried again with the laptop and I have managed to connect, but still no joy with the phones.
I am so disappointed with the quality of Fitbit devices. I've had several devices (One, Aria scales, Charge 1 & 2) over the past 7 years and all have failed in some way. The great thing about this latest issue is that it has cut the umbilical cord that was keeping me attached to the FitBit eco system - sounds ridiculous but it forced me to live for a couple of weeks without tracking my data. Giving some serious consideration to Garmin right now.
