Charge 2 no longer tracks sleep details

Worked fine for a year. Recently gives simplified sleep but never details and seems inaccurate. Have tried all the hints on the sleep page as well as updated software and restarted device three times. Three different watch band, both magic metic for exact fit and old fashioned with holes, worn on different levels of wrist from loose to snug to I am almost cutting off circulation. Nothing works. Very frustrate as this was one of main reasons for owning device. Seems this has happened to others . Fitbit doesn’t seem to be addressing this.

@Capedoc Welcome! It's nice to have you on board!

Let me help you with your missing sleep stages and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. As you may know, sleep stages may not show for the following reasons:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

I suggest you clean the back of your device with cotton and rubbing alcohol and restart it. Turn the heart rate off, save and sync then turn it on save and sync again. Also check these tips to improve the heart rate reading on your device.

Let me know how it goes.

I have doneeverything suggested in your post and nothing works. Could the problem be on Fitbit’s end with a software change?. Sleep tracking worked fine for over a year. Do I have any recourse other than dumping it and buying something new from a competitor?
