Charge 2 - no more notifications when reaching daily goals?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I haven’t received any “notifications” since June 16th.....the encouraging ones that come up when you’ve reached or exceeded your goals. “Nailed it” “Over achiever”.

Maybe I’m just a high maintenance fitbitter, but I used to enjoy getting them! 😉

Is this happening to anyone else?

Hello everyone! I apologize for the delayed response.

As mentioned above, this feature was removed due to user feedback. Also, as mentioned by @ashwolve, you have turn it back on by enabling push notifications on your phone's settings.

Thanks for helping out @ashwolve! I really appreciate it.

Feel free to reach out with any questions.

@JoyeBaker - Hi and Welcome - I had the same issue and i got mine working using the steps I posted - depending on which phone you have you may have to scroll down further into this thread to find the steps I took as I have an Android Phone the ones close to this post are what I have found out for the IPhone - remember to save changes as you do them and once completed force sync phone to try and keep them inforce - note you will get an icon appear at the top stating that it is running in then background click on that to open the page check the settings on that page (if you don't need them turn off Calls and Texts - and allow widget)

I hope these work for you as I sometimes find it hard to explain things clearly but I am getting better I think:)

let us know how you get on

Kind Regards

Wayne

@Faygored sorry it did not work for you - I only have limited information on IOS as im on Android the only information I can find is what you have already seen probably

on IOS I think you need to allow push notifications on the phone itself

https://www.iphonefaq.org/archives/97931

and in app - account>settings>scroll to advanced and check push notifications

you may want to post (if you have not done already ) on the IOS Forum

https://community.fitbit.com/t5/iOS-App/bd-p/ios

if still doesn't work Customer support maybe able to give a few more suggestions

the phone number will appear once the office is open (usually 0800 - 1900 Mon-Fri and 1000 - 1700 weekends in the UK)

Customer Support UK

This is for the UK but should you need to change country scroll to the bottom and look for United Kingdom with a down arrow next to it and click on the arrow now you can select your relevant country and the page will refresh

Kind Regards

Hello @ashwolve, and @Faygored. Welcome to the Forums @JoyeBaker.

@ashwolve Thanks for being around to help out! It's always very appreciated.

@JoyeBaker Did you try going through all of the steps that have been shared through the thread? If not, please do so.

@Faygored Thanks for letting us know that you have tried what was suggested.

Could you give us some additional insight into what is going on? Are you getting none of the notifications or only some? If some, which ones are you getting? Have you synced your Charge 2 with any other device? When did this start happening?

Look forward to your reply.

@JenniferAB Hi and Welcome - From what I understand some users did not want this function so it was taken away from us - the other suggestion going around is that it was removed as there was a fault and the time scale Fitbit uses to fix issues will probably not see it again in the too near future

Saying that although the messages will no longer be seen on the notifications tab you can still receive them as an immediate read and a link to the section by allowing push notifications and giving access to the notification service center - this should be detailed in my earlier post for the IPhone if you have any different phone let me know and I will try to give you direction

as a start point IF you use Samsung/Android go to settings and in the search bar type Notification Access and you should be presented with a list notifications - look in that list for Fitbit Notification Service and toggle on

then from settings again go to apps and select Fitbit scroll down to app settings and in notifications ensure that is set to allow

finally go to the app and open (from the dashboard) click on account and scroll down to settings and select all the items you wish to receive notifications for and finally I would suggest all day sync and always connect are selected as this help improve reliability of the notifications

now just wait to see if the next time you reach a goal you get the notification for it

you may get a notification saying that it is running if you tap on that and then close the notification should disappear until next time you restart your phone

Some phones will allow the removal of the messages in the notification tab by taping on each notification (if they look a light blue) and once they turn white refresh/sync the page and they should be removed (this does not work on all phones) but I managed it on my S6

Hope this helps a little

Kind Regards

Wayne
