Charge 2 not charging, has blank screen and won't reset

Hi

I have had my charge 2 for several years, had a battery low message yesterday so plugged it into the charger this morning checked it was properly plugged into the charge unit, pressed the side button and saw the battery charge symbol so assumed all was fine, went back to put it on several hours later and the screen is blank, the green lights are on on the back of the unit but not flashing.  Tried resetting several times got a vibration once and the logo appeared then nothing, plugged into my Mac and can see the charge icon on the top of the screen, it shows me battery is on red and that it last Synced yesterday evening around 8pm.  Not sure what to try now as I can't reset it, can't charge it, can't do anything with it !!  Any advice gratefully received.

update 2:  well it worked for 24 hours then last night it vibrated on my wrist I looked to see why and it was completely dead yet again, nothing happens when on charge so I am back to square one !! I definitely won’t be purchasing another Fitbit an expensive piece of kit like that should last more than a couple of years ☹️

@SueW53 It's nice to have you on board!

Let me help you with your Charge 2 not charging nor working. Try cleaning the contacts using cotton swab with rubbing alcohol, then charge it by plugging it for a couple of hours directly to your computer's USB port (try different ports) or use an UL-certified USB adapter. You can follow these instructions to help your device charge.

Let me know how it goes.

Hi there, I put an update on yesterday it’s working now but no idea why as I had tried all the things on the help section and what other community users had posted previously, I simply left it for a few days then plugged it into power and it started to charge.

see further update on my original post - it’s stopped working again.
