Charge 2, not charging, white pixelated rectangle on display.

Hi all,

My Charge 2 was working fine, about a week ago I was on holiday and it ran out of charge and I didn't bother charging it up at the time. I have just tried to charge it and when I oplug it in a pixelated white rectqangle shows up on the screen, flashes 10 times and then black screen. The battery symbol does not show up at all and I have tried restarting it but nothing happens when I do.

Anyone else had this issue?

If not I guess I will call customer service.

Thanks

Accepted Solutions

To trset the Charge 2 place ot into its powered up charger,  now hold the button in until it reboots. Try it three times.

If this doesn't work then look in the top corner for the "?", clicking this will give a link to contact Fitbit. This link can also be found in the app under help.

It's nice to see you around the Community @danileigh! Hmmm... I'm a lil confused. When you mention "I have just tried to charge it and when I plug it in a pixelated white rectangle shows up on the screen", I have to say that your description is very similar of the battery icon you should see when charging your tracker. However, I'm assuming that you are seeing that and then the black screen since it ran out of battery completely. I'd suggest leaving your tracker into the charger around 2-3 hours to see if after that your tracker only shows the battery progress.

Also, it'd be great if you check this post to test the solution if your battery isn't charging after following what I suggested above.

Keep me posted!

I just had that issue when I tried to bring my dead, lifeless fitbit: charge 2 back from the other side. I plugged it into a known and working powersource and a pixilated white screen flashed 10 times. I left it on the charger all night whilst I waited anxiously for some sign. Any sign really.

In the wee morning hours, it was still dead. I then brought its poor lifeless body across the room to my computer. I then pluged it into the computer; again it flashed with it's blank vegetable like flash. I then searched the internet deeper and deeper for some technical witch-craft to bring my Fitbit back. Anything for my little guy.

I came across an wholistic healing method that involved pressing the main button on the side 4 times while plugged into a computer. This led me no-where, for my Fitbit was still not breathing. After a couple seconds I got an idea, I will press and hold the button while the white pixelated screens flash.

After my second try of disconnecting the Fitbit from the computer, and then reconnecting it, waiting for a second while the white flashes ran through. I then pressed that **ahem** button with the furry and intensity of a person anoyed their Fitbit died.

Instead of pressing it 4 times, I just held it. I think I just held it. Alright now I am not sure if I just held it for 4 seconds or I pressed it 4 times. Well it worked and it displayed the time and the charging battery sign. So either way there is you answer. Just makes sure that you do it while the white pixelated screen is flashing.

Same exact problem! Has been charging for more than 2 days and nothing except the few vibrations and rectangle pixelated screen. Holding down the button doesn't do anything

Hi Marre.

Hope you can help me I'm experiencing the same issue with my charge 2 fit bit. I've not had it on for a couple of weeks so the battery has died and now it's flashing the white pixelated screen. It's not the battery screen this is more like when you have no signal on a TV if that makes sense. I've had it on charge for a couple of hours now and tried holding the button down whilst it's flashing as suggested (thank you lovely forum people) but no luck. I don't know if it should be but the green light also isn't flashing on the back panel, thinking it might be faulty. Please can you advise if there is anything I should try that might fix it? I tried to call the help desk but it's shut on Sundays. Starting to feel very guilty about letting my little Fitbit die.

Thanks in advance x

Thanks for joining us here @Ewilsonfit! Hmmmm.... let's fix it my friend. I know as per your previous post that you've restarted your Charge 2 already, but I'd need you to please do it 3 times in a row. But before doing the restarts, leave your device charging around 3 hours to make sure it has enough power for the restart procedure.

If you keep getting your display flickering, I'd appreciate if you can send me a picture of it. I'll be take of this inconvenience my friend.

I'll be around!

It's sorted now but thank you so much for your help, I tried plugging the cable into another plug and it worked so not sure if it just didn't like the plug but my fit bit has now been charged and is working fine. Thanks again for getting back to me 🙂 x

Hey there @MrsJimenez2014! I'm so sorry to hear this is happening to your screen too. Have you also tried what @Ewilsonfit suggested in the last post? It'd be nice to give it a shot, we never know, right? So, to better assist you sweetie, please send me the picture showing the white pixelated  rectangle on the display.

@Michelle78, there are times of stress where we just need to laugh.

@CMA10 i agree, with lithium batteries it is not good to let them get mych below 30%. This is when the low battery email gets sent. Pop it on the charger while taking a shower, it wont hurt anything.

Im glad your little buddies have come back to life.
