Hi all,
My Charge 2 was working fine, about a week ago I was on holiday and it ran out of charge and I didn't bother charging it up at the time. I have just tried to charge it and when I oplug it in a pixelated white rectqangle shows up on the screen, flashes 10 times and then black screen. The battery symbol does not show up at all and I have tried restarting it but nothing happens when I do.
Anyone else had this issue?
If not I guess I will call customer service.
Thanks

Loved your post, love your sense of humor, and LOVED that your solution worked for me. I held the power button while the weird white light was flashing, and voila!, I now have a normal battery charge symbol. I'm grateful for people that take the time to do some trial-and-error, and then take the time to share their solution...thank you!!!!

I just had that issue when I tried to bring my dead, lifeless fitbit: charge 2 back from the other side. I plugged it into a known and working powersource and a pixilated white screen flashed 10 times. I left it on the charger all night whilst I waited anxiously for some sign. Any sign really.
In the wee morning hours, it was still dead. I then brought its poor lifeless body across the room to my computer. I then pluged it into the computer; again it flashed with it's blank vegetable like flash. I then searched the internet deeper and deeper for some technical witch-craft to bring my Fitbit back. Anything for my little guy.
I came across an wholistic healing method that involved pressing the main button on the side 4 times while plugged into a computer. This led me no-where, for my Fitbit was still not breathing. After a couple seconds I got an idea, I will press and hold the button while the white pixelated screens flash.
After my second try of disconnecting the Fitbit from the computer, and then reconnecting it, waiting for a second while the white flashes ran through. I then pressed that **ahem** button with the furry and intensity of a person anoyed their Fitbit died.
Instead of pressing it 4 times, I just held it. I think I just held it. Alright now I am not sure if I just held it for 4 seconds or I pressed it 4 times. Well it worked and it displayed the time and the charging battery sign. So either way there is you answer. Just makes sure that you do it while the white pixelated screen is flashing.

tried everything in this thread and no go. Hooked to multiple power sources including a computer. It seems that when I hook it to the power outlet, it flashes the white screen and goes blank. When I hook it to a computer, it flashes the Fitbit logo and the firmware version and then goes blank. It will then display the battery icon when I move it. I left it for a couple of hours and the battery icon doesn't get anymore full. Tried holding the button, then pressing the button 3 and 4 times on both power sources and nothing.
It was working fine last night when I hooked it to the power source to charge. Woke up this morning and it was dead. And haven't been able to get it back.
The Fitibit charge was a great unit when it first came out. But the fancier they make it, the worse the quality becomes.

This also worked for me! I tried resetting it when it was flashing, which wasn't helping at all. As soon as i plugged it into another outlet it worked perfectly!
@Ewilsonfit wrote:It's sorted now but thank you so much for your help, I tried plugging the cable into another plug and it worked so not sure if it just didn't like the plug but my fit bit has now been charged and is working fine. Thanks again for getting back to me 🙂 x

The solution worked, mines been off since May. You have to do it about 7 or 8 times, I let mine on the charger about 5 minutes after the first 5 tries, tried a few more times and it worked like a charm!!!

Did you have a flashing pixelated screen while your fitbit was connected to the charging cable? If so, do you by any chance remember how you got it to do that?
I have the pixelated screen of death and if I do the 4 button clicks while it isn't connected to anything; it'll go into a trance of turning on and off while the screen flashes and it vibrates once as well. Can't get it to do that when its connected to the cable.

This was somewhat really helpful!
I had the same problem, hadn't used my fitbit in ages, went to charge it up and got this rectangular pulsing static screen. Read this post, tried both things: 1.) Hold the main button on the side 2.) Press the main button on the side 4 times. - Kinda alternated these. And it sprang back to life! Now back to normal charging screen and juicing up! I just had mine plugged into the wall socket, but switching off the power at the wall didnt work - you have to take your fitbit out of its charging dock to initiate the static rectangle screen.
Glad it looks like its on the mend now!! Will update if it doesnt fully charge/fix the issue.

None of this worked. Yet another $100 out the window on a crappy fitbit.

When it was flashing and won't charge with a black screen, more than likely it is due to a bad usb port .get a new one and plug it in to a working outlet . Or plug it in your computer to charge.it should blink once than you will see the fitbit logo.

This is the part that no one seems to be listing to fix the problem.
You have to press the button at the same time the white box is flashing... Up to to 4 times. Then the problem is solved. Thanks for specifying this part and helping me fix the charge.

Thank you much for being so clear. I read 50 different people all saying the same thing: restart. Mine wasn’t restarting or anything just that annoying fuzzy flash. Then you said to try holding in the button while the flash was happening. It worked!

Absolutely, yes I noticed everyone was leaving that step out of pressing the button during the flashing screen. Glad I could help.

How do you get something to flash on the display? I have plugged it into both a wall outlet (actually several outlets and even tried to put the USB charger cable in different adapters n plug those into different outlets) and even plugged it into the USB port on my computer, but it made no difference. I tried to do the soft reset by holding the button down while the device is connected to the charging clip so many times that I lost count... it vibrates, but the screen is still blank. It had 85% of its battery life remaining last night, but I'm letting it sit plugged into my CPU for a few hours now to make sure the battery is at a full charge. The CS rep I spoke to yesterday via chat told me that if I do the soft reset several times with no luck bringing the display back to life, then nothing will help and I have to throw money away (that I simply don't have) on a brand new tracker after just a year and a half of ise.

I’m encountering the same problem. I tried to reboot but now there’s nothing in the screen but black empty screen. I don’t even know if it’s charging as there’s nothing on the display. I’m leaving hooked on the charger (hoping that it’s charging) for a while and see what happens

The white pixelated screen is gone. Now nothing appears on the screen. I hope it’s not dead coz I’m not sure I can bear seeing it cremated
