Charge 2 not charging

I'm trying to charge my new Charge 2 for well over 24 hours now, but it still says the battery is low. The pins are aligned and the watch shows a charging symbol when I plug it in. It said 'phew I needed that' when I plugged it in. Yet everytime I take the watch out of the charger it says low battery. The app also says the battery is low. Why whiny the fit bit charge? How can I really know if it's charging (other than seeing a charging battery and waiting 2 hours?)

@Tracey69 your not going to be able to sync until your tracker is setup.

Or you using a phone or a win 10 machine to set your tracker up with.

With a phone you will use the fitbit app.

See http://help.fitbit.com/?q=setup

Hello @Granny43 your not going to be able to sunc until you setup up your tracker. As for charging if it still has the setup message their will not be any indication other than a slight vibration.

If you would like help olease tell ys what error you are getting and with what device your trying to set it up with.

my phone is charging okay. I didn’t understand that the first charge to proceed the setup does not show the charging icon that appears later. Therefore, I did not know my fitbit was charging.

followed procedures to restart new fitbit charge 2. NOT charging. Not being recognized by app. Another poor charger design flaw (first the charge HR breaks, they won't fix it because its out of warranty and now a noticeable deign flaw out of box). Come on fitbit get your stuff together! Good app bad hardware that is not designed to last. It's designed to be obsolete after the warranty period. I'm done!

Why do you say it is not charging? Did you not feel it vibrate when plugging it in?

Best Answer

Probably had same experience I did.  Unless you verify the charging icon, then set it down VERY carefully, the charger will fail to maintain contact.  Try to tap the Charge 2 screen AFTER connecting the charger and setting it down to verify it is still charging

Was there ever a solution to this issue? I got a new Charge 2 this week and it has been totally unresponsive. No activity at all. No sign of life. No vibration. Nothing ever appeared on the screen. Tried charging in several reliable USB outlets/sockets without success. Charged for a couple of hours at first and then again overnight. Tried everything mentioned in other posts: cleaning the contacts, wiggling the connector, tapping the screen, press and hold the button to try reset. Nada! Unless there is anything else someone can suggest I try, it will have to go back.

Hi, sorry to hear that! I have tried plugging it into my phone charger and holding the button for three seconds. If that does not work, try keep by it plugged in over night.

I'll keep persevering but I've tried a USB port on the pc, a USB port on a fixed power socket in the house and an iPhone charging plug. Even left it plugged in overnight. Tried holding in the button without any response. I'll leave it on 'charge' again for a few hours, but it's pretty lifeless so far.

Have you tried cleaning the charging tips on the charge and/or charger?
