Charge 2 not getting Google Hangout notifications

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have an iPhone 7 and a Charge 2, and I've recently been trying to get notifications to work on my Charge 2 so I don't have to look at my phone every time I get a new message.

I visited some other people's questions that were asking the same thing, and the answers were that you had to enable the notifications on your phone so that they pop up when a message is received.

I also enabled all the notification properties on my Charge 2, but nothing seems to work. Is something I have to do to that I didn't?

@x95 Welcome! It's nice to have you on board!

Let me help you with your Charge 2 notifications. Not sure if your device will get notifications from this app as it only has the ability to get text notifications. Still you can refresh the link between your phone and your device by doing the following:

  • Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  • Restart your phone and restart your device.
  • Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.
  • You can find additional suggestions here.

Let me know how it goes.

I found out that the charge 2 only receives messages from the messages app
and nothing else. Those notifications from the messages app are working for
me.

Okay I've had a Charge 2 for over a year and it was always able to get Hangouts notifications up until 5 days ago.  So saying that Charge 2 is only able to handle text notifications kind of stumps me. What changed? Why would they even change that? That just seems so stupid to take away that sort of functionality.  I've gone through the support center and they gave suggestions, which has been everything I already did before contacting them.

Agreed. I've had my charge 2 for two years and it has always worked with Hangouts until recently. It seems to have stopped once my Moto G6 upgraded from Android 8 to 9. It makes no sense.
