Charge 2 not pairing to phone's Bluetooth

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Charge2 is syncing but it’s not pairing with the BT. I have turned BT on and off on my phone, deleted and re downloaded the Fitbit app, and restarted my phone, all to no avail..... Anyone know what other options I can try?

@msgraff Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here! I am not sure if I understood correctly. Your tracker is actually syncing your data but you can't see it on your phone's bluetooth list? You don't need to pair it directly to your phone as all the syncing is done through the app and any changes or updates are manages through it. If you actually can't sync then please restart your phone's bluetooth like you did it before (make sure it is compatible) and restart your tracker by doing the following:

Plug the charging cable to your computer or UL certified wall adapter.
Align the contacts of the tracker with the charging cable and plug it in making sure it snaps securely.
Your tracker should start charging.
Press the button for 10 to 12 seconds.
You should see your tracker's firmware version and you can now unplug your tracker.

Now go to the bluetooth area on your phone and remove your tracker and any other bt device from it then go to the app and retry syncing them.

Let me know how it goes!

Hey @msgraff, it is great to see new members around! Remember that your Charge 2 should be paired through the Fitbit app not to the Bluetooth on your phone. That being said, I'd like you to try the following to make your tracker syncs:

- Restart your Charge 2

- Reboot the Bluetooth on your phone

- Reboot your phone

If after that, your Charge 2 still not syncing, please try to set up your Fitbit as a new device.

Let me know how it goes!

@TKumar It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community! Sorry to hear that you can't setup your Charge with your Android phone. Which phone are you using? Is it compatibleYou can try going to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there. Restart your phone and restart your device. After this try syncing them. Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.

Let me know how it goes!

Did you possibly just update your phone to Android 9? I did, and then I can no longer connect to my Charge 2.

@Slite Welcome! It's good that the community is growing!  Sorry to hear that your Charge 2 isn't syncing with your phone after you updated the OS on it. Please be aware that Android users are having issues syncing with Android 9 (Pie), you can check this thread to keep up to date with this. Still feel free to try the suggestions in my previous post.

Keep me posted!

I'm having the same problem. It syncs with my Samsung Galaxy J6+, but it does not actually pair with the bluetooth. I think that might be why I don't receive notifications (incoming calls or texts), which is a big reason why I bought the device in the first place. I'm using Android Oreo (v8.1). I've also noticed the list of compatible phones is becoming shorter and shorter, which is quite disappointing.

Same issue here : suddenly my Fitbit stopped sync'ing and I'm getting Bluetooth error message to stop/start bluetooth again but that it's an endless loop.

I have tried various suggestions from the community posts :
- adapting the battery savings settings for the fitbit App : same result

- restarting phone : same result

- restarting charge 2 : same result

- disconnect bluetooth device "charge 2" on phone and reconnect it : not able to connect anymore

HELP !

I'm having the same issue as Charge2_user !! I updated my phone yesterday (April 23) I have a Samsung A8 and it stopped pairing in bluetooth. I used the text and call notifications feature a lot and now it stopped working! 😫 I followed all the suggestions and still doesn't work. HELP. I fell like I'm going crazy trying to figure it out. I'm almost ready to throw this thing out the window!

Update : attempting to sync via Windows 10 App worked fine, so it's not related to the Charge2. I also excluded the Samsung Android 9 Bluetooth because other Bluetooth devices are working fine.

I just got a new Samsung A8.  Text messages and call alerts not coming through to my tracker.  So disappointing.

Hi, I'm having the same issues as you!

Samsung galaxy A8 (which I've had for 8 months) was sending calls and text notifications to my charge 2, but suddenly won't. It won't pair with the phone via bluetooth  -  phone just keeps saying " pairing failed, make sure device is in pairing mode"

The charge 2 sometimes doesn't even appear on the bluetooth list, it just says "no devices found"  (the charge 2 is still syncing with the Fitbit app)

I've tried all of the fixes mentioned previously to no avail, and am now very frustrated! HELP!

I am having the same frustrating issues.  My Charge2 would not link with my phone and now is stuck on the seemingly endless "updating your tracker" loop with no results.  I have tried all the suggested ways to fix it contained within this string and it still does not work.  Help please.

I sympathise, it's so frustrating. Why do they have to fix what isn't
broken?
Still no advice as to what to do. My phone doesn't even pick up the charge
2 on its bluetooth list at all now, so no texts can be read and no calls
seen!!
Wish I had the answer for us all

This is my third Fitbit and to be honest, I've had problems with all of
them! The straps on the first two (Charge HR's) both ended up faulty, and
the strap on my Charge 2 has broken (replaced by Fitbit after some tooing
and frowing mind).
The not pairing with my phone is the most frustrating, especially as the
tracker still syncs, just can't pair so wong receive texts and calls!
Annoyingly, it was all working brilliantly until the app updated and my
phone shows as compatible with the app!!!
Can anyone help us????

All,

This is the answer I received from the Fitbit support team via their socials :

"Thanks for troubleshooting beforehand. Let's help you resolve this issue. To confirm, have you already tried these other syncing troubleshoots: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1866? Let us know how it goes and if you have other concerns."

It didn't help me for my case (Android9 on Samsung S8 with Fitbit Charge2) but could be helpful for the rest of you in this discussion..
