Charge 2 not receiving text or call notifications

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I cannot get my Charge 2 to send any text message notifications. This is the 2nd tracker I've had due to the 1st one being deemed defective by Fitbit (syncing issue). I've tried everything on the troubleshooting page. Any suggestions?

Had the same issue and a simple fix worked - had to click through and hold
down button on the side:

*press button on side of fitbit, click through until you see a
"notifications" screen. IF you don't see it (depending on your screen
setting selections you may not), just hold down that button for a second or
so and you'll see "Notifications: off" - hold down or click again and it
will change to "Notifications: on" and vibrate once.

Hi @Niharshah92,

I'd first recommend making sure that you are using the latest version of the Fitbit iOS App, version 2.34. Click here to update if you haven't already.

In regard to your HR sensor, I'd first recommend restarting your tracker using the instructions listed here. If the problem persists, I'd recommend verifying that you have your heart rate settings configured to either "Auto" or "On", click here for instructions.

Lastly, I'd recommend the troubleshoots mentioned here in my previous post to help get notifications on your Charge 2.

Hope this helps!

I had the same thing happen - checked the App itself (that notifications were on), synced it.  Then realized if you hold the button on the tracker it will toggle the notifications "on" or "off".  I accidentally turned mine off 🙂

Hey @catjrice, welcome to the Community! 🙂 That is correct, there is an easier way to turn ON or OFF the notifications, and you can do that on the tracker itself by pressing and holding the side button. So you don't need to go to the the app. 😉

Keep me posted if you have further questions!

Rich,

Thank you this is the first thing I have found about this step and it appears to have worked, was able to test calendar and phone and finally received the notification.

Welcome to the Forums @jeanlimRobot Very Happy I just want to confirm the steps you have done so far:

If your tracker doesn't receive or there is a delay on the notifications

- How to enable notifications on your Android

- Make sure that the notifications are ON on the Charge 2 itself

Please let me know if you have followed them. 😉

I have performed all of these steps but when I go to the Fitbit App and click notifications the "wheel" keeps spinning and spinning with no next step.  I was once receiving notifications but then it just stopped for some reason so it did once work.

I recently bought charge 2 after two days the notifications have stopped working. I reviewed all the steps to no avail, so should I return it for a new one or is there a solution please advise.

Hey guys! I hope you are doin' great! 😄

@SunsetRunner, thanks for taking the time to try to fix this. In addition, I would like you to take a look at the tips on this thread, I'm pretty sure you'll find the solution there! Let me know how it goes!

@suncatinca, I appreciate you have contacted Fitbit Support. What was the response that you received from them?

@fbourget, first of all, I would like you to make sure that you correctly set up your Charge 2. If you are using an iOS device, follow the steps in this post. And these steps for Android or these steps for Windows devices. If you are using a PC, review these instructions. After you have set up your Charge 2, let me know which operation system you used so I can keep giving you the correct instructions for you to get notifications.

@Devink66, sounds pretty good that you are getting notifications again! Yeah, on the Charge 2 itself, you have the option to activate or deactivate them.

Let me know how it goes, folks!

Every time there is an update to either my Fitbit software, the phone or the app, it seems I have to fix the notifications.  This is what I have to do every time:

1.  Open Fitbit App on phone

2.  Click on the account button in the upper right had corner.  Looks like a rectangle.

3.  Click on Charge 2

4.  Click on Notifications under General

5.  You will see Calls, Text Messages and Calendar Events.  Click on each of those to make sure they are On.

This usually takes care of my notifications.
