Charge 2 not receiving text or call notifications

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I cannot get my Charge 2 to send any text message notifications. This is the 2nd tracker I've had due to the 1st one being deemed defective by Fitbit (syncing issue). I've tried everything on the troubleshooting page. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem and someone on here suggested holding in the button on the side of the Fitbit while it is in the clock screen and it worked!

Hello guys! I hope you are fine! 🙂

@Tammydouglashan, sounds pretty cool that your tracker is receiving notifications again. Now you know that by pressing and holding the side button, you'll stop getting notifications, which also includes reminders to move.

@style_boot, thanks for the update!

If you have further questions guys, let me know!

I had the same problem with my charge 2 and this worked.  Hold down the button on the clock screen.

Thanks!

Welcome to the Forums @Jenfurnora! Thanks for the update my friend. Sounds pretty cool that your Charge 2 is getting notifications. Sometimes we just deactivate the notifications by mistake on the tracker itself.

Let me know if you have further questions!

I have been using FitBit since 2011.  The only thing I can think about is that I received a replacedment a while ago but not sure FB insert Thumb-drive (lack of what is proper verbiage to call what plugs into USB) has not worked with texts.  I do not believe any of my charges HR & Charge 2 have ever worked but I receive all other notifications?  Thank you

@Herbo notifications only work with a phone the USB dongle is not used with a phone.

Have you followed @Jenfurnora advice above

Thank you but that is not totally true. “ All notifications” work except texts have never shown up? I have used FitBit for 5+ years and had most FitBits over the years.

Thank you!

Hey @Les338, welcome aboard! Sounds pretty cool that you are getting notifications on your Charge 2. If you have further questions, let me know! 😉

Hello @Herbo, it is cool to see you around more often! Let me ask you something, are you not getting text notifications? If so, and you are using a iOS device, make sure that after the update to iOS 11, in "Notification Settings" on iPhone, under "Messages", there is now an option called "Show in History" this replaces the previous "Show in Notification Center" and it needs enabling to allow text messages to appear on Fitbit Charge 2. If you have that option enable, but you still not receiving text notifications, please review the troubleshooting steps in this post to fix it.

Let me know how it goes!

Hey @Tammydouglashan, I hope you are doin' fine! If you are not getting call or text notifications,  I'd like you to make sure that the latest version of the Fitbit app is installed on your iOS device. If after that you still not getting notifications, please take a look at the troubleshooting in this post.

Let me know how it goes!

Absolutely! This seems like a no-brainer to me; I had no idea there even WAS a notification setting on the actual Fitbit device; can't imagine why there would be. But since there is, then let the app override it.   My Charge 2 suddenly quit giving me notifications on calls, texts, or anything else despite me checking the app repeatedly and re-syncing--nada.  By accident I discovered the notification option on the device and that was turned "off"!  Ridiculous!

This notification setting is documented in the user manual and on the Fitbit help site. Manual can be found by clicking on the help link below.

Why was this setting added .simply because of the very high vote count the suggested idea received in the feature request board.

Apparently you disagree with the many thousands of others on multiple requests for a quick way to turn notifications off from the tracker.

The Blaze and Ionic also have this feature .

I’ve had an Alta HR that has worked fine with all notifications coming to it. Today, I bought a Charge 2, and went through the setup. All is great, but the notifications will not work on the Charge 2 at all. I’ve unpaired it and tried again. I’ve turned Bluetooth off and back on. Nothing is working.

Help, please...
