Charge 2 not recording Active Minutes

My Charge 2 is only recording 4 active minutes despite the fact that I've been active continuously for well in excess of that. My Exercise for the same time records over 60 minutes.

Can anyone assist me with this

Hey @Cazlyndy17, it is great to see you around more often! The active minutes will be tracked based on the duration and intensity, which means that you have to complete at least a 10 medium-intense minutes exercise. I can see that you mentioned that you did 20 minutes but those minutes could have not been as intense as you thought. But don't you worry, let me suggest you something, if you feel that your exercise is intense enough, I suggest you to take a look at our wearing tips, maybe your Charge 2 isn't recording your heart rate correctly while your are exercising and that is why it isn't tracking your active minutes as it should. Give it a try and let me know how it goes. 😉

Thanks for getting back to me @walkingtom, I'd like you to consider the intensity of your walking as well. I also walk a lot, but not always with a high intensity, so is very rare that I get active minutes while doing that activity. Anyways, as I mentioned above,  I'd like you to review the wearing tips as well.

Let me know how it goes guys!

Hey @walkingtom, welcome aboard! Let me help you out with your active minutes not being accurately tracked. If you are performing the same exercise activity, as you may have read in our article on the topic "What are active minutes", our algorithms detect subtle differences in exertion that may explain why two seemingly identical activities result in different active minute totals. For example if you took a brisk walk along the same route two days in a row, differences in your speed and exertion levels (e.g. out of breath vs not out of breath, etc) will cause different active minute totals for the two activities. Also keep in mind that active minutes are only recorded for activities that last 10 minutes or longer.

Because Fitbit trackers primarily track movement through the use of an accelerometer, they more accurately detect active minutes for step-based activities (brisk walking, running) than non-step based activities or activities that require more than steps (yoga, tennis). Trackers with a heart rate monitor like the Charge 2, detect active minutes most accurately, since heart rate data allows us to better estimate caloric burn and, in turn, exercise intensity. If you're unhappy with your active minutes total, I recommend logging the activity manually as described in this post, if you are using an Android device. Manually logged activities override your tracker's data. Some users may report a decrease in active minutes after logging an activity, which can occur if what your tracker recorded was more intense than what you logged.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes!

I am also having problems with active minutes. Its been happening for a couple of weeks now but Today, on exercise a 20 minutes walk was recorded but again nothing for active minutes...

Ive restarted my charge 2 a few times but still no active minutes. Strangely for the same exercise my husbands charge 2 counts the 20 minute walk as active minutes

I also restarted my Charge 2 but this had no effect. I walk a lot and I'm guessing that my heartbeat remains low despite the long distances. On the other hand it's possible my Charge 2 has a mind of it's own !!

I understand everything you are saying but it doesn't matter what I do
active minutes still don't record. Heart rate working & even when going out
with my husband to take the dog for a walk my husbands charge 2 records
active minutes & mine doesn't. Only the last 5 days have I got no active
minutes, heart rate has been high & still no minutes recorded

I have had the same for past three days, no active minutes. Even if I log them manually it doesn’t work. Fitbit support say they are aware of the problem but say it will not be fixed in the foreseeable future. How on earth could it track for 8 months and then no longer track active minutes? I put my husbands one on my other wrist and it tracked active minutes perfectly
