Charge 2 not recording the right distance on runs

I did a 14k run this morning and my fitbit only recorded 12k. This has been happening for months. I have checked my height, logged in and out, have made sure the GPS is connected, made sure all updates have been done but nothing seems to make a difference. Can anyone help resolve this please?

Let me help you with your Charge 2 not showing the correct distance and thank you for checking the settings. You might want to enter your stride length manually to help improve the distance calculation. Please follow these instructions to do so.

I've been getting the EXACT same issue for the past 6 months since Fitbit updated their app.  Support have confirmed in emails that there is an issue and that others are getting the same problem however they seem completely useless in getting it resolved and simply send out a constant stream of generic emails on how the device works, how it works out steps and hwo to manual change stride length...all of which I've tried with no resolution.  In fact I changed my stride to a ridicilous 70 inches and it was still 0.4 miles out per mile!!
