Oh wow. Last bullet point was the charm. Holding button down 2-3 seconds turned on notifications. Thank you

I went through ALL of these steps as described and still all I get is the sender's name but not the message.

@mareighmoon may I ask what phone you have?
Is it that the message notice shows up on your Charge 2 but you are unable to read it?

I’m having this problem as well! I get the notification and the name of the sender, but no text is included.

I'm also having the same problem. I can see the sender's name, but not the message. I actually just had to reset my phone, so the Fitbit app was reinstalled and repaired to my device. It's been like this the past several weeks. I did recently update the firmware on my Fitbit, no change. All permissions are allowed.

@Rich_Laue I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 and have never had issues with it until a couple weeks ago. The name of the sender pops up on my Fitbit but not the message. I cant read the message and it is frustrating as I paid good money for this ya know?

This is bordering on comical. I have followed all the instructions for all the methods recommended and still no messages, texts, or calls come through on the Charge 2. There is no "test" icon so I sent a message and made a voice call from another device. Nothing. I have an iPhone 8 and up until a few weeks ago I had no issues. This is clearly (imho) an app issue that FitBit would do well to fix. Don't sell a product that has people complaining about the same issue for years and do nothing about it. I can't be bothered to waste any more time on this. You've lost my business but then again I'm just one consumer, right? FYI I have only ever got part of the text message and the name in the past - normally it's enough to get an idea of what the person is saying I just assumed it was designed that way. Now it's just designed not to work at all!

I am so disappointed with this glitch with Fitbit and message and phone notifications. One of the reasons that I upgraded to the Charge2 was for this feature. It has been a few months since I received messages and I am thinking it must have been an Apple update. Is this happening to other phones other than the iPhone? If this is not rectified I’m thinking an Apple Watch will be on my Christmas list. Help!!

Restarting my android phone usually fixes the issue.

Sorry, you asked if it is happening to other phones.
Do you have preview enabled on the notification center?
