Unable to get sleep cycles. I have switched wrist, moved up 3 inches on wrist, reset app, charge battery to full, sleep with arm on pillow not to be moving during night, let Charge 2 track automatically, placed heartbeats to on, put heartbeats to automatic, put glove on so Charge 2 doesn't move and still only gives me time. Last sleep cycle was registered in August 2018. No sleep cycles since August and have no solutions.

I tried these solution numerous times and still only get time. I have tried different sleep positions. I usually sleep 8 to 9 hours.

@noodlebugs Welcome! Thanks for being part of our Community! Sorry to hear that your Charge 2 isn't getting sleep stages and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. You may not get sleep stages for the following reasons:
You can also clean the back of the tracker with cotton and rubbing alcohol and then restart it to see if this helps.

- If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
- If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
- If you slept for less than 3 hours.
- If your device’s battery is critically low.

That is just the stock answer, I have had the same problem in the past & was just told the same thing!
I have recently received a replacement Charge 2 due to screen cracking problems. I wear it exactly the same as I have worn it previously and out of the past 3 weeks I have only had Stages twice I think. Where as I have had almost no problems with Sleep Stages on my old device for months, I have Sleep Apnoea & rely on the app for info. I am going to look at other companies alternatives as this Charge 2 is not fulfilling my needs, too many problems & too much frustration.

I have exactly the same experience.
After some research, I believe it is my AF (atrial fibrilattion ie. irregular heartbeat). I understand that the iWatch 4 now has an algorithm to handle this, bought one then returned when I found out the battery only goes 18 hrs. max, with no other background apps going. Not exactly functional if you put it on in the morn @6:00 am, it poops out somethime in the night ie. incomplete heart and sleep data.
Sorry, don't know of any fix.
best, kb
