Charge 2 not syncing nor charging beyond 85%

Hi, I'm currently experiencing two problems with my Charge 2:

  1. My phones and pc cannot detect the device via Bluetooth
  2. My battery won't charge to over 85%

The first problem I have been having since April (according to my last sync log) so I've essentially been using it as a day-to-day tracker (no syncing) and a time-piece. The second one is a recent development as I had stopped using the watch when one the bands got too loose to click into place (around August). The battery had completely drained during this time. I finally got around to purchasing a new band and I've gotten a new phone that needs to be synced with the Charge 2. As the Bluetooth is not working (I assume), it's displaying the wrong time and date and cannot change until it syncs with something. And I've now noticed that atop the syncing problem, the Charge 2 is not charging beyond 85%.

 

Please help.

@Avi_3lf A warm welcome to our Community!

Let me help you with your charging and syncing issues on your Charge 2. For the battery issues try cleaning the contacts using cotton swab with rubbing alcohol, then charge it by plugging it for a couple of hours directly to your computer's USB port (try different ports) or use an UL-certified USB adapter. You can follow these instructions to help your tracker charge. 

For syncing try:

  • Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  • Restart your phone and restart your device
  • Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on. 
  • You can find additional suggestions here.

I cleaned the contacts again, it's still not charging past 85%. It is charging (the diagonal charge pattern) but only up to 85%.

 

Regarding the sync issues, I followed the instructions for resetting the phone and the pc on the link you sent to no avail. I even tried syncing on the brand new PC I unboxed today. It's just not reading the Charge 2.

 

Update (November 1): Today after restarting consecutively a number of times and getting the model number (etc.) to show up accidentally, I noticed it charged to 100%. Absolutely unsure of what occured to help with that situation. The bluetooth is still an issue though. When scanning on my pc for nearby devices (just to see if it is emitting a signal), I notice it is now showing up intermittently. Sometimes for short periods and sometimes for shorter periods. The PC refuses to connect to it using the Fitbit app but sometimes my phone will exclaim that it's found the tracker. However, after a few minutes of connecting, it will eventually tell me there was an issue. 

 

Any further advice?
