Had my charge2 for a week and it won’t track the deep sleep rem and the stages it to track when I’m sleeping. What do I do to fix it.

Here’s a screenshot from last night (if I get it right) first with stages, a gap and then the old display !!
Just to clarify my posting above; the gray gap in the middle is when I get up at 6 am to go shoot at the pigeons that come to my swimming-pool as the sun rises, and at 8 am I go back to sleep for another couple of hours, after doing a few jobs in the cool of the morning. In todays report the last 2 hours were in the simplified sleep details - what a mix !
As an aside - take a look at this interesting story about sleep stages and dreams . .

You guys. You. GUYS.
So I've been experimenting for a week, and I have gotten sleep stages every day but one. My sister also has a Charge 2, so we put our heads together to see if we could get our stuff to work. Our conclusion was to wear it SUPER loose. So loose that you can turn the tracker around your wrist without undoing the band. My sister turns hers around every night, so the tracker is on the inside of her wrist, then turns it around in the morning. I have worn it both on the outside and inside of my wrist, and it has worked both ways. If you can see my graph, I did get one day without sleep stages. That was when I was wearing the tracker on the inside of my wrist, but I slept on my stomach. That meant I pressed the tracker into my wrist, as opposed to it being free to move. So, maybe this could be something for you to try tonight. Especially since the instructions say not to wear it too loose, but that seems to be the key for us. Couldn’t hurt, right?

Wearing my versa loose like a bangle bracelet did get me sleep stages last night. I'll have to keep doing that and see if it works every night.

@st8_oftheHeart Since there was a long gap between sleep sessions and the second one was less that 3 hours it would show with simplified sleep graphs.
@TrophyWidow @Tvoyak thank you so much for sharing your tips, hopefully this will work for many others and help them get sleep stages. This is why the Community exist so everyone can share and help each other.

Has wearing the device really loosely worked for anyone else? I've been wondering why sleep stages is not working even when my sleep is longer than 3 hours. I have a Charge 2.

I have been monitoring this topic for awhile now and have an update. For 6 months I never had Sleep stages. never had them since the day I bought the device. However over the past month I am getting maybe 2 -3 a week now. Still not a good number out of 7 days but better then nothing. There is only one thing I can think of that I have started to do different. Not sure if this is the reason but I have noticed if I charge the Fitbit to 100% right before bed and wear the band tight, this is when I seem to get stages. I do not charge the Fitbit every day but when I do, I noticed I started to put it on the charger about 6 pm and then I put it back on my arm right before going to sleep. Not sure if this is anything or I am just getting lucky. It would be interesting to see if this works for anyone else. It is something I just noticed. Like I said it could just be a coincidence. I have not tried charging it to 100% every night yet, but maybe I will test this.

App 2.74.1: No sleep stages!
Still problem on serverside!
Otherwise it should work with Win-10-App. 😉
I'm waiting since March!

I may be jinxing myself, but on July 4, I tried @TrophyWidow and @Tvoyak's suggestion and wore my Charge 2 like a bangle bracelet when I went to bed. Since then, I have gotten sleep stages for six nights out of seven, with five of those being consecutive nights with sleep stages. I have never gotten more than two consecutive nights with sleep stages and overall, since getting the Charge 2 in early February, have seldom received sleep stages. Now, today was the first day that the Android app update became available for me. I hope the update won't revert my sleep data to the simplified graph.
Update: I went back and checked my data from the time I got my Charge 2, just to see exactly how many nights I received sleep stages. From February 6 to June 30, I received a total of 30 nights with sleep stages. Also, a correction to my post...there were three instances when I got three consecutive nights with sleep stages.

Well, I was back to no sleep stages last night. I wasn't sure if I was back to Square 1 after updating the app yesterday to the latest version. In any event, I decided to try @endfeld's suggestion in this thread but first tried editing the times I went to bed and got up; however, that still gave me a simplified graph. When that didn't work, I deleted the entire log as she suggested, re-entered it and got sleep stages. I now have one more thing I can try when wearing it like a bangle bracelet doesn't work.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to post here. If you haven't done please try @TrophyWidow's suggestion about wearing your tracker loose while sleeping. Also @PaulaBar thank you so much for keeping us up to date with your finding as this is something else that we can all try to get sleep stages. If someone else has another suggestion feel free to share it here.

And when you wear it on the head there are also no sleep stages! 😉
How do you thinking that wearing it looser or harder can fix the algorithm?
It's a serious question!
Just your engineers are able to answer the question when they correct the range for HRV!
Maybe you can ask them and ask the why here is no notice in the coomunitiest that they are working since month on that problem, as told me by your phone support!
And why all your tracks has the same problem.
Thank you very much for your kind help!
Regards
Mark

I agree with @LJess and @Mark2018 as far as Fitbit fixing the problem so that the sleep stages work for everyone as it is supposed to; I'm just glad I found two hoops that I could jump through that make it work for me (crossing my fingers that the bandaid continues to work for me until a permanent fix is found).

Yeaaaaaaaah, about that. Haven’t gotten detailed sleep graphs since Friday. And before that it was a few days before my last one. I’m tapped. You’re up, Fitbit.

All I can say is - HERE WE GO AGAIN.
I haven't had detailed sleep stages for about 10 days. As I recall, this is about the third time that a long thread about this problem has gone on, with everyone going through all kinds of gyrations trying to get their Fitbit to do what it is supposed to do. And as in the past, all of a sudden the sleep stages appear again. Fitbit seldom acknowledges that it was their problem all along.
I truly wish they would fix it once and for all. Sigh.
