Had my charge2 for a week and it won’t track the deep sleep rem and the stages it to track when I’m sleeping.   What do I do to fix it.

None of these apply to my case, I made sure of it none of these scenarios apply in my situation. And still I can't get sleep stages. This is very serious because your marketing & advertising claim that Charge 2 support sleep stages, yet there are a lot of users not getting that result, so it's a but misleading and could heart the brand's reputation..

Hi guys, actually I was able to see sleep a couple of days ago, and it's been showing them ever since. I think it took time to recognise my sleep patterns.

But I can confirm it's working fine now. Thanks for your response.

I was having a similar issue with my charge 2. The thing is, is the problem was with me. If you have an arythmia, or specifically in my case, I was in afib. Tried for 6 months to get sleep stages to work and after my afib was "fixed" my fitbit started giving me all the sleep stages. Not trying to be an alarmist, but if you haven't had a physical since getting the fitbit, I highly suggest getting one. In my case, my fitbit was trying to let me know something was wrong. Good luck.

Same issue for me.  Fitbit support keeps sending me to the page that states how it tracks sleep.  It has even told me that my Charge 2 is not faulty after it has tracked my sleep well over a year and stopped tracking sleep stages 6 days ago.

All -

My fitbit stopped tracking sleep stages and I thought it was the fitbit's fault.  All the blogs said it was time changes, fitbit not fitting properly, insufficient sleep, etc.   Turns out my heart had gone into afib and the fitbit wont read properly when the heart has an arrhythmia like that.  Took me 4 months to figure it out.  Once diagnosed, my doctor sent me to a cardiologist for a cardioversion (shock your heart into normal rhythm again).  The night after the cardio version put me into normal rhythm, my fitbit started tracking sleep stages normally again.

If you have tried everything else to get the fitbit to work...you may want to get your heart rhythm checked.  I bought a Kardia finger pad and loaded their app.  Works great for checking your heart rhythm,

This has not solved my problem. I cannot get the sleep tracker to record the stages. Tried many approaches.

In reading the forum I see that I am not alone.

It is most disappointing as a product.

I am hopeful that Fitbit is working on resolving this issue

Sam thing has happened to me with the same response from Fitbit

I finally learned why and i can see why the Fitbit staff could not help.  The only thing that had changed on my end through some deduction is that i started to eat pistachios. I learned that pistachios increase heart rate variability. I stopped eating pistachios and my tracker ts working again. I had to figure this out by myself.

We eat pistachios (3 raw, unsalted) every night ½ hour before sleep, as it's an excellent source of melatonin. It has not affected our sleep stages recording. Much better than melatoninml supplements.

"Melatonin has been well known as a potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory factor and immune modulator. It also contributes to regulating the circadian system [100], possesses tumor inhibitory properties [7], and shows its benefits on cardiovascular functions [101], blood pressure [101], and lipid and glucose metabolism [102] "

Yes, I can do this too.  If I don't get sleep stages overnight, all I have to do the next day is delete Fitbit's auto-entry and manually re-enter it, or just modify Fitbit's auto-entry by a couple minutes.  Then, when I re-sync, I will see the sleep stages analysis.  But, I don't understand why this works and question whether the resulting sleep stage analysis is accurate.  Perhaps the Fitbit techs can comment on this.

Update -  I got my Charge 2 last year for Xmas ( 2017)   I went back and looked at the data. I wear the Charge every day and night.  Between 1/1/18  and 12/18/18   Sleep stages worked 34 times.  Strange thing is since 12/19/18  I have 11 straight days with sleep stages. I have not done anything different with the way I sleep or where the phone sits while I sleep. It is also the same phone for the whole year. So, in total between 1/1/18 and today 12/29/18  ( 363 days)  sleep stages has worked 45 nights for me.

I gave up on my charge 2 in early July having decided it was not working because of my ectopic heartbeats. Recently I’ve felt that my heart has calmed down so I charged it up and wore it as usual. Blow me down, I got sleep stages!
I’m just going to check last night ‘s. Fingers crossed.

Someone  did post that they had Atrial Fib and was having this problem too.  But what I dont understand is - why is it accurate taking the pulse but not the sleep pattern?
