Charge 2 not tracking sleep

ANSWERED
Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've had a fit but charge 2 for about a week now. Something is wrong with its sleep tracking feature. So far of the 7 nights I've worn the Fitbit it has only tracked sleep for 2 of them. I have seen posts where it was a sensitivity setting messing up the time asleep but mine has no data at all for most days.

Hopefully someone can asssit with getting this feature working otherwise the Fitbit is getting returned.

Thanks.

Way cool 😎, I'm not sure how this board thing works ,, however their
was a reply by a member of the community.
His solution was the best of all my own efforts and in I think two
methods .
If you can access this thread I think it's called , one thing he did
was as I do when showering.
I charge it near my sink , his one method as I use an iPhone :mobile_phone: is to
hold down the button on the side while plugged in for let's say 10 seconds
or until the logo reappear he does this three times . If you're able to
read or skim until you find his post.. if this thing is working, testing
testing Is this thing on ????
The iPhone and protocol for some apps don't do so well as apple or
the operating system os ..So I find that resetting is a regular problem I
think because some of the windows programs are written only so good as the
windows and os formats are always updating, that or the Aliens 👽 have been
writing their own code..,,?

Hello there, my Charge 2 didn't track my sleep last night, and I tried to restart many times, but still that info does not show, do you know why?

Best Answer
I had problems in the past with my Fitbit not recording HR throughout day. They fixed it but it's now back with a vengeance so I'm constantly readjusting device during day and am showing huge sleep gaps at night with 2-3 hours of total sleep which is not true. I don't know if this is your issue or not.

ALSO in the past a rep told me to reset my device on charger 3 times in a row when I was experiencing sleep tracking issues due to other causes. I don't know why the 3 times but that did fix it on that occasion. So if try that! Good luck!

I tried restarting and it didn’t work. It also is not displaying notifications ie. phone calls and texts

Did you try restarting the phone? This is what fixes my android notification problem, along with the connected GPS. It also at the same time fixes my none printing problem .

My Charge 2 doesn’t track my sleep properly. I’ve called Fitbit and worked with technicians via email. Problem not solved. Fitbit replaced, new one still not tracking sleep properly. I see so many other posts like mine so I know I’m not alone with this issue and I hope Fitbit fixes the issue.

Just sync more often.

SJW61 ... I think it's interesting you got a new one and same problem. Mine is not working either. Everyone has given suggestions on what to do and none work. I would like to know if it is a technical problem, or maybe half the fit bit wearing population has a soft heart beat the fit bit cannot read and there is no fix???????

p.s. Sync more often? really?? I sync all the time and most of those times it has already synced on its own.

Mine is working now - Like I mentioned, sync more often might help.
I don’t have the setting set at “constant” sync.

What it comes down to is I sleep restless, I also get up one to two
times a night at least. It takes the fit but I think 40 minutes of sleep ,
or stillness before the fit bit can use their program and track your sleep.
Do I'm out , concerning trying to track sleep. I also wonder I may
inquire how you know I have a new one?
It's a replacement from long ago that I have and was given by Fitbit .
I've just recently started to use it again for exercise only as stated
above .
I did get the same bad information you got finally somehow I'd come upon
this hopefully it keeps the driven part of you able to let this one go and
have fun . Sincerely; Awkward1

Hello Restless sleeper
I have had great success by using the “Relax” mode , while I’m getting myself comfortable in bed.
The deep breathing, following along with the Relax mode exercise has really helped.
Try it and see if it helps you .

@Awkward1 I would try changing sep to sensitive or changing the heart rate to on. Actualy you could try different combinations.

If all fails you can manually start sleep from their it app.

Now as far as your replacement goes, if it was re-manufactured t will be clearly marked.

Dear Fitbit Community Board Monitors:

The sleep function on my Fitbit HR (my second Fitbit) does not work right, has never worked right, and probably never will, no matter how many times I reboot the thing. It splits my night between 2 dates and generally calculates my time asleep in two or three different segments (no matter how many times I reboot, I repeat).

The elephant in the room here needs to be honestly acknowledged: the sleep monitor on the device just doesn’t work very well, and needs to be overhauled or reengineered. Don’t  blow smoke up our behinds about how it’s not tight enough or we used too much lotion, etc.... Fitbit obviously just doesn’t have this function dialed in yet.

For a reasonable discount, I’d be happy to turn in my old device and buy the next generation of the device if it really works better. Otherwise I think next time I’ll go big and just get a smart watch that can actually do what it claims to.

Hello @Rockprof thanks for bringing this to my attention, it's nice to see you again participating here in the Community Forums. My apologies for the delay in responding,

I appreciate all the information and details that were shared in your post, I totally understand how frustrating this matter can be for you, thanks for restarting your Charge 2 prior posting. To better assist you, can you please let me know when was the first time you experienced this and how many times since then? Also, I recommend you to try sleeping with your Charge 2 on your non-dominant hand and check if the sleep settings on your account is in normal instead of sensitive.

Regarding your discount question, please note that at this moment we do not have any promotion available in our Fitbit store.

Keep me posted, I'll be here.
