Switching your pulse rate to on from auto will fix everything.

Add me to the list I upgraded from the HR to the Charge 2 about nine months ago. It stopped tracking sleep yesterday. I've taken all the suggested steps with no results. I wish I'd never switched, because this thing has been nothing but trouble.

I ended up having to return my fitbit and get a new one and so far this one is working great.

how do you change your pulse rate to auto? I can't find that on my iphone app or logged in on my laptop?

How can I return my Fitbit Charge 2to fix the no tracking sleep problem? I bought it from Fitbit with the 25% discount because both my Fitbit Charge had the band fall apart after 6 months! Very frustrating!

I have got THREE new Charge 2's over the past 3 months and ALL do not track sleep as intended ... very erratic and under records my sleep by 3-5 hours each day. I have tried all the "solutions" others have proposed. It probably requires a software fix to correct, or a new hardware design.

What do the Fitbit moderators have to say about this problem? Is there a fix or do we have to order a new Charge2?

I don't think a new Charge 2 will do the trick until the problem is fixed. I just received a new Charge 2 from Amazon this week and it has the same sleep issue problems. Moderator, what do we do?

Yes, I turned it to ON on all three devices I have had. It does
track, but only approx. one-half the hours of my typical 8 hour
continuous sleep period. Very Erratic.

May 2017
i got my Fitbit Charge 2 this week. It tracked sleep for three nights, then the fourth night it only tracked it in a basic way - asleep/restless.
Then, the fifth night, ot has not tracked sleep at all!
i can't believe it! it sounds like this is an ongoing problem for this item.
I will work through the advice to see if I can fix it - but I don't expect a brand new item to fail so quickly!

I'm having exactly this issue.
Sold my Surge as it didn't give me the 250+ step reminders every hour which I'm not even sure if that's even working as I haven't had a reminder about that yet either.
My surge tracked sleep perfectly well, but last night, the first nights sleep it didn't seem to track my sleep properly when I woke up and synced it this morning. But several hours later, I just checked to see again and it seems to have recorded it now, al be it looks like I'm the lightest sleeper on the planet, the Surge wasn't this sensitive !!

I've tried resetting my Fitbit and adding in different ways. It does not fully track my sleep. Then when I add the times in to track, it always adds up to 6 hours, even if I have more that 9 hours in there. For example last night I had from roughly midnight to 9 am and the sleep and awake/restless times total added up to 6 hours (sleep time) and 48 minutes awake/restless. Not possible. How do I fix this?
