Best advice I can give you.... Delete the tile and stop worrying about it.
Some people it won't track. Myself it says I only sleep an hour a night. My
wife tracks perfectly.

That portion is part of why I got this. I want it track my sleep.

The sleep portion is one of the reasons I got this. It worked fine till the new sleep stages came out.

EXACT SAME BEHAVIOR! First night after upgrading my old Fitbit to a Charge 2 - exceeded expectation with the sleep detail Bragged to all of my friends about how cool that was!

Night 2 - NOTHING

OK, I only got 5+ hours but come on. (Yes, now I'm going to read the rationalization..) We used to call this sort of letdown "Defeat from the jaws of victory"..no longer an exceedingly happy Charge 2 convert.

We'll see what happens tonight.. as Meat Loaf sang years ago, "Two out of three ain't bad" but that's not often true in technology....

1+.  I got a Charge2 because Jawbone Up is going away.  The Up always did an amazing job tracking sleep.  Two nights with the FB and first night I went to bed at 11:00 and it starting tracking sleep at 2:30. Last night it tracked sleep from 2:59-4:02 and then again from 5:32-8:43.

Its a new device, fully charged and updated.  So far pretty unimpressed.

The only thing I can think of is... did you change time zones? That's what did mine in for a short while.

My issue is my new Charge 2 is the sleep tracker hasn't changed the hours or minutes on my dashboard. But I  can look into the details and they appear to be right to the best of my knowledge.  I would prefer both to be right.

Third night in a row and Charge2 completely fails to accurately track sleep.  It recorded three disjoint chunks of time during the night.

I've reset the device.  Pretty close to just returning it.

I'm obsessive about tracking sleep.  I got a Charge2 to replace my Jawbone Up.  In about a week of usage the Charge2 has failed to record a single night of sleep without gaps where it does not record any  data.  I've manually started sleep when I go to bed and manually said "I'm awake" in the morning, but still the device decides to skip several hours a night of data.   I can compare this with the Jawbone Up that I'm also wearing, and against my CPAP.  The Charge2 is wrong.

I'm running the latest version of everything and have restarted the device.  Is this just how the device "works"?

Has there been any real solutions to this flaw? I've had the charge 2 for a few weeks now and love it but am seriously thinking of changing to another company as the sleep feature simply doesn't work! Any help would be massively appreciated!!

My Charge 2 is randomly not tracking sleep.

Dates not tracked:

  • Oct 2, 2017
  • Oct 15, 2017
  • Oct 17, 2017

Attempts to restart tracker don't appear to work, meaning tracker does not restart. Plugging charger into USB port on computer or UL-certified USB wall charger, pressing and holding button on Charge 2 for 4+ seconds does not result in band restarting.

Suggestions?

Mine only tracks intermittently too. I have done the restart too and it still only tracks intermittently.  I've quit trying to fix it. It's a disappointment.

Hi there, my fitbit charge 2 did not track sleep last night for the first time and I have restarted it and deleted it and re-added it as a new device in my profile, but still no sign of my sleep hours from last night, any ideas?

Hi,

I gave up, sorry.

The sleep tracking was only one of the problems I had.

Stopped using it

Sleep tracking is intermittent at best.

Recently, I'm getting fairly consistent basic tracking, but unable to get detailed sleep stages. Very frustrated.

Support actually suggested manually editing the my sleep times. I could do that with a spreadsheet and a clock. Why would I need a tracker for that?

So, I've got the same issue... tracked for a couple of days, then not.  So, how am I supposed to restart the device? haha!  don't know how to do that.  And I don't know how to reset it either.  Help, please?

If you put your fitbit on charge then hold the button in till it switches it self off then it should reset its self
