Charge 2 not tracking sleep

ANSWERED

I've had a fit but charge 2 for about a week now. Something is wrong with its sleep tracking feature. So far of the 7 nights I've worn the Fitbit it has only tracked sleep for 2 of them. I have seen posts where it was a sensitivity setting messing up the time asleep but mine has no data at all for most days.

Hopefully someone can asssit with getting this feature working otherwise the Fitbit is getting returned.

Thanks.

Seriously? I'm glad there's an answer but now we don't just have to reboot device once and force quit app 2times before doing that and 2 times after to get heart rate back on I have to reboot it 3 times? This is the buggiest electronic device I've ever heard of. Kept getting responses from other threads that they gave up and got an Apple Watch. I don't want all that. Customer service is phenomenal before you buy a device. Afterwards you get letters back with links telling you how to do exactly what you've done.

Thank God for the Fitbit community or I would have returned long ago.

@Steph_110 all the information above may be found in youtlr trackers user manual, have you downloaded it yet?

Go to the bottom of this page, click on the word help, niw click the picture of your tracker. You are in Fitbits interactive online extensive user help guide.

Where a word or phrase can be searched, and a pdf copy of the user manual can be downloased.

I've met 4 people that since Christmas have given up ther AW's for tge Blaze. Most because of tge Battery life, or the the AW did way more than they needed and was bulkier. None have mentioned having problems with either unit.

I got it figured  it out , at least for last night , tracking was right on .  Though to be sure no one puts what I'm about to tell you this simple or in my case, ,I've never been able to discern by reading previous points to get the fix .

Plug in the device into  the charging doc, then hold the side button in for 8 seconds or until you see the Fitbit emblem.. That's it . Check next morning. I never got an email from Fitbit but it's probably the layoffs.

I have the Fitbit app on my laptop, which has Win10 as the OS. I want to notify Fitbit when I go to sleep, but all I get when I hit the + at the top of the sleep page is standard bedtime and wakening times, no option for the "going to sleep now" button. My wife runs Fitbit on an iPad and her app shows the "going to sleep now button". How do I get that to appear?

Best Answer
While in the sleep part of the program all you need to do is hit the (
+ ) them a few options pop up one is begin sleep..
Also if you are a moving person ,even in your sleep as I do ,well you
have to use the begin sleep options.

You are going need to put the fit bit in sleep mode , this is because
the unit only starts after 1 hour of being still.. I'm never still !

I have read if I am consistent it will begin to track sleep properly,
no !!
Well I'm never still for twenty minutes I guess?

So I put my charge 2 in begin sleep, the other to note , if you
forage through the refrigerator, go to the bathroom etc, you should do
another add sleep when you go bac to bed.
I get up some times 12 to 15 times . I'm really sleep challenged ...
To sum it up , I put the unitt into begin sleep mode, mainly so I can
see how long it takes according to the unit for me to go down ..
The rest of the tracking sleep app ,I have to ad in multiple sleep
times the next day because the unit will say I only slept 2 to 3 hours,,, I
have tried everything I found in the community..
The jist if you move or get out of bed your time will restart an hour
from the bath room trip .

See ya ; Awkward1

Thanks for the reply, but when I hit the + at the top of the sleep page, all I get is a window with three items on it:
1. At the top, it says “ X LOG SLEEP”
2. Then a window with the heading “Yesterday” to enter the time
3. Then a window with the heading “Today” to enter the time

At the center of the bottom of the window, there’s a check mark. When I click that, it tells me that I can’t log sleep.

At the right of the bottom of the window is “…”; when I click that, the word “log” appears under the check mark. When I click that, I get the “Can’t log sleep” message.

I’ve tried clicking the + from each of the various sleep report pages with the same result; nothing returns the “going to sleep now” option.

I suggest that you go to dash board, their it showes the tiles with
activity sleep steps etc .
Go to the sleep in the tile on your dash board, it opens a one week
sleep log the upper right has a gear or sprocket just to the right is the
( +. ) .
Push that (+) three catagories add sleep log begin sleep and cancel .
To edit a given day before you push the (+) or return to the week
display, you can press on a day their you can edit any day. However you
can't change
Or edit a sleep log that already exists..

Hope this helps Sincerely.;

Thanks again, but when I click on the sleep tile, it takes me to the weekly sleep log. I do have the + in the upper right corner, but there’s no gear next to it; instead, it shows a circle with a crescent Moon inside. The + returns the screen I described earlier, while the Moon-in-circle icon returns another window with several options for sleep time notification, but nothing to click when I go to bed. I guess I have a defective app.

Ya that is how mine is, I'm up for the first few hours up for one reason
or another..
The thing is as I've researched the unit does not start counting until 1
hour of still sleep. The unit starts to record if you get up your process
starts again..
The unit and web says it does account eventually or starts to , however
I'm not seeing it..

Fingaldon, I am having to note when I fall asleep. Either I have vague idea or take screen shot showing time right as drift of. Next AM go in and edit time fell asleep. The data is in there and will show me asleep all night with maybe up once or twice. If I play with it and go back too far it will show awake. I don't know why this is happening now, but this will correct it.

Sorry to hear about your troubles.

However, I was having similar issues in the past. Not tracking sleep, not being able to consistently getting my jogging GPS to track , as well , there was a times that my steps were not recording properly.

Not sure if my solution will work for you.

But ive had tremendous success. Everything on my Fitbit Charge 2 works flawlessly now.

i started to wear my Fitbit one hole looser 2- 21/2 fingers above my wrist. Each night while I take my shower I give it a charge. Maybe 5-10 minutes.

2-3 times a week while charging, I would hold down the button until the Fitbit " Rebooted"

the reboot seems to help quite a bit .

Give it a try, you have nothing to lose.

Way cool I give that a shot i'm doing the charge every shower , how
ever the reboot every 2 /3 days and the sleep with it 2 to three up ,
well I'll try first as my forearms are a little on the large side to
tighten around wrist and the reboot.
Then if those are not doing it the higher up the arm part last , as much
as I move with the larger forearm it will be at my wrist by waking..
So thank you Sincerely; Awkward1..😎

Thank you for the info, I actually think I found a way fingers crossed to track sleep. Lmao now if I could only remember how I did it!! Somewhere, some how on my phone app I did start sleep, and I left my phone on all night, along with my tracker. It worked, even though my phone said it was not able to track sleep it did. Unfortunately I'm very restless person and I'm never completely still for any length of time. Even when I try to sleep, I'm usually twitching my foot or something. I tried the loosening the tracker I tried resetting it neither worked. Hope this helps.
