Charge 2 not working, black screen, no lights, doesn't charge

My Charge 2 worked great from May 8, 2017.  Now, less than 2 months later, it suddenly stopped working.  The screen is black, no lights are flashing in the back, and it won't charge.  I tried plugging it into the computer USB port, and straight into a USB wall unit, and nothing.  No vibration, nothing.  The screen stays black and it looks dead, and no lights in back.  On my dashboard, it shows the battery at the halfway mark.  This morning it was charging normally, and a couple hours later I was trying to look at how many steps I was taking, and the screen was black, no life at all.  Please help.

After reading the forums and googling this issue, for more than 3 hours, I'm calling it quits for the night.

@Fitty333 Thanks for stopping by! Sorry to hear that your tracker isn't working. I suggest you clean the contacts by using a toothpick or toothbrush and then finish with cotton and rubbing alcohol (clean the charging cable contacts too). After this try charging it directly to your computer's usb port, avoid using hubs and don't let computer enter hibernation or sleep. You can also try a wall adapter again as you mentioned on your first post. Retry the restart process after the tracker has been plugged for 2 hours by doing the following:

 

Plug the charging cable to your computer or UL certified wall adapter.
Align the contacts of the tracker with the charging cable and plug it in making sure it snaps securely.
Your tracker should start charging.
Press the button for 10 to 12 seconds.
You should see your tracker's firmware version and you can now unplug your tracker.

My son is having similar problems. His fitbit charge 2 was working fine up until this morning. When he got up, all worked fine. Less than two hours later, he noticed it was low on battery. When he got a chance to plug in to charge a couple hours later, the screen was black and only one green light on the back was lit up. Left it plugged in for several hours and it is still unresponsive. Black screen, no vibration, only one green light lit, the one farther away from the charging points, and it stays on solid and doesn't flicker. The app won't find the tracker either. It says tracker not found It is not old, he got it in January.

i have the same problem this moring the clock was still working and now the screen stays black if i press the button for a while it vibrates but screen does not come
