Charge 2 notifications turn on after charging

I recently replaced my Charge 2 tracker. I set the tracker to turn the notifications off ( by holding the button while in the Notifications screen). However, after I recharge it, the notifications settings automatically turn on.  Is there a way I can keep them set off?  I also turned off the notification settings on the app as well

Make sure the cable is securely connected the the Charge 2. It think it is holding on the button. Maybe with the initial setup to charge.
