Charge 2 on Hike not Recording

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Just recently whenever I put my Charge 2 on Hike it records the number of steps correctly but the mileage seems way out. As an example yesterday I walked about 10 miles but when I checked the mileage it had recorded 3.78 miles. The step count was 23,854 which I know is greater than the 3.78 miles. The first mile was done at a pace of just over 24 minutes but the last mile was done at a pace just over 175 minutes. If I  leave the Charge 2 on its default and just let it record steps everything seems okay. A few days previously a walk recorded 29,674 steps and a total of 13.02 miles.

Has anyone else had the same issue?

@listeningear  Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well! Sorry to hear that your distance is incorrect on your recorded hike activity. This is an issue currently being investigated by our team. I suggest you try using the run option as it is more likely to provide a better distance calculation or just use the tracker to record your activity.

Let me know how it goes!

Okay, I am out walking again on Saturday so I will try it then. I am not sure why putting the activity to run will make much of a difference. If hike does not work why would run especially if run uses the GPS mode of my phone?

I have a similar problem.  When I'm walking on the treadmill my Fitbit Charge 2 is not counting all the steps.  I'll walk for a mile and see no steps counted.  Then shake my wrist and it starts counting.  Then is stops again.

This is similar but my problem is that steps were being counted but they were not being converted into miles correctly while the Fitbit was in Hike mode.
