Charge 2 only tracking simplified sleep stages

My charge 2 has only tracked simplified sleep stages for three nights now. I haven’t altered anything. My battery was low on the first night so I thought it was that. When that has happened in the past it has been fine the next night after being charged.

@Ruthj Welcome! It's great to see you around!

Let me help you with your sleep stages. You might not get sleep stages for the following reasons:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

To improve the heart rate reading I suggest you clean the back of your device with cotton and rubbing alcohol and restart it. Turn the heart rate off, save and sync then turn it on save and sync again. Also check these tips to improve the heart rate reading on your device.

Let me know how it goes.

I have the exact same issue.  My battery died while I was sleeping.  I recharged it and ever since then it has not recorded the sleep cycles.  I rebooted the Fitbit yesterday and that didn't help last night.  I logged out of the Fitbit iPhone app today and signed back in, I'll see if that helps tonight.

It would be nice if someone at Fitbit would help besides giving the standard cut-n-paste response.

Update:  I reset my Fitbit yesterday and it still did not track my sleep cycles last night.  Still waiting on Fitbit to help resolve the issue.
