Charge 2 passed down from daughter, wont set up

Hi all, I have already searched many times on here on how to factory reset a Charge2 and I have attempted many times with no success. My daughter has given me her old Charge2 and I have checked that the device has been removed from her account and that her phone is not connecting to the old Charge2 also.
The device has not gone back to the setup screen when this was done. All it shows is the date of 23 APR and the time and it seems to be obviously recording steps as I carry it.
I have created a new account on Fitbit and tried to set up but it cannot connect to it and my bluetooth does not pick it up either.
Can anybody help??

There is no factory reset procedure for the Charge 2, see: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2216/

However, what you have tried is the right approach - it should be just a case of adding the fitbit to your account on your phone and it will delete any data left on the fitbit and reassign it to your account.

Have you checked that your phone is supported by fitbit at www.fitbit.com/devices ?

When you say that your daughter's phone is not connecting, can I just check that any link has been removed from her phone's bluetooth settings (I find this is one of the biggest problems with reassigning fitbits)

Hello there, thanks for the reply,

Actually i dont have a smart phone, I'm connecting using the app on a Chromebook which I downloaded from the Andriod play store, it has installed and I have been able to create an account, clicked on the set up my device and it says it has found it but doesn't connect, I have my bluetooth on and I've looked to see if the Charge appears in the paired list but nothing.

Yes daughter has completely removed and unpaired the old device, she now has a new versa connected to her account.

P.S: I think the problem is with the device itself as it has not defaulted back to the setup screen.

I think the problem is that Chromebooks are not supported by Fitbit.

Right, what I might do to test that is the Chromebook compatibility, is to try and link the Charge to daughters phone again and see if that works... I think that would be a good test to prove that.

Thanks for your time.
