Charge 2 recording inaccurate distance

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

When I am going on a run with another fitbit user we are running exactly the same route but getting distances that are over a km different to each other.

I am using a versa 2 and this matches my strava distance recorded by my phone, they are using a Charge 2 device that is coming up with a completely different distance.

We have checked for updates and neither of us are due any.

Are your runs recorded with the Charge 2 connected to the phones GPS, and the resulting map shows?

Is your stride properly set?

The charge 2 is linked to GPS and is shown in the map, when we compare our
maps at the end of a run the charge 2 device has the km laps pinned at a
shorter distance to the versa 2 km laps.
Both devices are set to automatic stride calculation from gps.

I have the same problem affecting both Run and Bike mode. I have tried restarting the Fitbit and that has not improved things. The watch implies that everything is connected ok.

I've got a Charge 2 connected to a Samsung S8 and for the last couple of months the GPS distance tracking has been way off. The map looks correct but the distance is way off- generally only logging 75% of the actual distance. So if I'm running 8 or 9km it comes up as 6km. I've double checked all my routes against previous tracked distances and MapMyRun and all are now wrong. This is the same for my bike rides and runs. Is very frustrating as it kind of negates the point of having the fitbit to track pace and performance.

Have tried uninstalling and making sure I have the latest versions of everything on my phone but doesn't seem to do anything.

Seen lots of similar issues on here across a number of years so thinking if it's not something that is being resolved I'll be switching to Garmin...
