My fitbit screen is stuck at 04:00 April 1. Thought it might be an April Fool's joke! However, can't restart. Seems to be logging steps OK and battery is fully charged, but screen completely stuck. Any ideas?

I will gladly assist you with this and thank you for restarting your device. Try changing the time on your Charge 2 to a completely different one, save and sync then change it back to the correct one.

Nothing would unfreeze the screen. The battery ran out and now the screen is a rectangle of small wavy patterns. So I think the fitbit screen has completely failed.This happened without any incident, just with normal use.
My fitbit is 2 years and eight months old (bought Sept 8 2016 from Amazon). So out of warranty. I would expect a fitbit to have a longer lifetime.
