Charge 2 screen going crazy

My Charge2 has gone a bit wobbly! Smiley Sad

The screen just cycles from one screen to another. Sometimes it rests at the BPM screen for a while, then it starts to say Notifications ON before showing Notifications OFF and then it goes to something new. The screen stays active like this until the battery is depleted. I recharge it and the same thing happens.

The button on the side seems to function normally and I have reset the watch with no improvement.

HELP!

I have had the original Fitbit Charge and bought the Fitbit Charge HR 2 since it was an upgrade.  I never had issues with the original charge and I have had the new Charge HR 2 now for maybe two years and I never had any issues, until 2 days ago.  The Charge HR 2 Screen keeps flipping through and then gets stuck on either the heart rate screen or one of my alarms.  This screen flipping will be constant until it drains the battery,  which is usually about 2 hours and then it dies and I put it back on the charger.  I have restarted the fitbit several times, installed and reinstalled the app on my Samsung Phone and it's still not working and the screen keeps skipping.  Please help!  I do not want to have to buy a new one right now because it's not in my budget and I use this tracking my activity.

We couldn’t ever get ours to stop doing it. We had to buy new ones. We were
offered a discount by Fitbit. But that’s it. We ended up getting our new
ones on block Friday. Sorry. Fitbit was of NO help to us on it.

Hi,

My Fitbit eventually died! I haven't purchased a new because of the same reason. Unfortunately, Fitbit would not help me because it had been 2yrs and I didn't purchase an extended warranty. They offered me a small discount for a limited if I chose to purchase another tracker. I was bummed because I only took my tracker off to shower. I think it's unfortunate that the lifespan is only 2yrs. My tracker resolved for about 6 months with the software updates before dying. I  wish you better success!!

Well drat. I am having the same problem as this entire thread and nothing is fixing it. Can't believe it's been an issue for over 6 months and Fitbit haveha come up with a solution. Whyever not??? So frustrating! I have a broken Fitbit that won't stop vibrating, flashing, and holds charge for any 5 minutes. ARGH! These are not cheap products to purchase but definitely not satisfied with the lack of solution. And yes I've tried restarting it after recharting it multiple times.

Oh wow - this is disappointing.

Hello, my charge 2 just started flashing through the screens without being prompted, only these screens show partial sections and broken pixel patterns.i have always been extremely cautious about keeping it dry and clean. When I tried the restart suggestions above, it is not making the distinct buzz buzz, instead it now is vibrating when I jostle the band in the charger. Also, the screen light never came on in the charger or when I attempt the restart. Thank you.

I started having the same problem with my Charge2...I have tried resetting while on charger multiple times. My device is clean, no debris in the button...I got my FitBit as a birthday gift 4/2/18...you would think it would last longer than 1 year??? I resorted to using my FitBit One that I have had for several years...I pulled it out of my jewelry box and charged it and it works with no problem after sitting dead for almost a year...

If you can contact Fitbit before 4/2/19 then do! It’s supposed to have a
1yr warranty!

Oh mine just started doing this today 😞 the button doesn't seem to work on mine either as tried the reset thing and no difference. Its now stuck on the relax mode but just a big heart and occasional message about how do I feel lol. It also keeps vibrating every so often.

Sad there's no solution as can't afford a new one right now 😕

Mine started doing this this morning while I was trying to sleep (screen flips around, button pushes randomly happen which will repeatedly start and stop a timer for example, as well as incessant vibration)

Looking at this thread, I guess I should start looking for a new fitness tracker.  I already had a long MS Band 2 history I had to give up when that broke and was discontinued.  I'd hate to now have another history lost if there ends up an option better than another fitbit.

Oh well, whatever.

Thank you very much! I have enjoyed my Fitbit until this issue. I haven't used it since and miss all of my data I was collecting!

But I am very impressed with the support. Still a Fitbit customer - at least once I can get this thing working.

Thanks again.

Yes I agree! Mine lasted almost 2 yrs. I have opted for a smart watch instead and no longer have a Fitbit. I chose not to purchase another one.

Mine has been fixed! These instructions helped me out a lot:

As a last troubleshooting we'd like to suggest you to perform a long restart to your Charge 3, by following the next instructions:

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable.
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again.

No luck. Only got the first vibration. But those instructions are for a
charge 3. I did still try, though. Several times. Sigh.

My Charge 2 just lost it's mind also.  Same screen cycling issue.  Resetting does not stop the problem.  I guess it was nice while it lasted.  This was out of the blue as my Charge 2 was in nice condition and worked great until this started.  I'm so disappointed.

@AlvaroFit, I was able to get my Fitbit finally working after a few days by
getting it reset. It worked for a few days and then last night it started
going crazy again. I let it sit overnight, charged it up and after a few
resets it calmed down again. Not sure why it randomly starts these fits.
At least I should be able to get by with it temporarily but it's still a
bummer as my company is shifting towards rewards around Fitbit steps and
stuff...

I did all of the correct steps in the correct order and nothing is happening. The screen on my Fitbit charge 2 is extremely glitchy and only showing up on about 1/8 of the screen. I've restarted it 5 times and nothing happens.
