Why does the Charge 2 not ship with a dongle? Does the Charge 2 not need one or do I use the dongle from another Fitbit device? Or does a dongle have to be purchased separately?

@Mintz read and follow instructions here: http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1866/ and contact Fitbit support if it doesn't work.

What if your first fitbit is a charge 2, you don't have an old dongle, or a smart phone, and my PC has Windows 7? should I just return the fitbit?
Does it work with kindle fires?

Maybe you should Microsoft doesn't support Win 7 anymore, neither does Fitbit

@Rich_Laue that is not true, in fact Microsoft will support Windows 7 another 2.5 years, until January 14, 2020:

All of the Windows software I'm required to use at work is still supported on Windows 7.

Today, FB states, "no dongles in stock", try one of retailers, fitbit.com/retailers

Yes 2020 is the end of extended support. Mainstream support ended 4 years ago.
Also Microsoft has admitted that it is impossible to secure a Win7 machine while on the web.
@Run_for_Christ that would be a sync issue.
