Charge 2 showing too many steps

My Fitbit Charge2 today suddenly says I have walked 82,503 steps, 36.5 miles, and 8 flights of stairs! Considering yesterday it was 2589 steps and the only difference today was a very short walk outside with a very short 2.10 mile bike ride, I find this odd. This has never happened before. Is it time for a new one or what?

A warm welcome to the Community @Howdy54. Thanks for the details that you've mentioned. 

 

It's pretty odd that it showed you that amount of steps. I would like you to double check that there are no activities logged in your Dashboard, this can be affecting the data.

 

To do so: 

- Go to your Fitbit app 

- Tap the exercise tile 

- Check yesterday's activities

Got it. It registered 31 miles instead of 0.31 miles. Fixed it. Thanks!Sent via the Samsung Galaxy Tab E, an AT&T 4G LTE tablet
