Charge 2 shows inaccurate mileage when running

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I run the same route consistently. On this same run the Fitbit has shown 2.9 miles and recently 1.64 when I go the exact same spot. The only difference is that I have a jogger I hold on to sometimes. How can you fix this inaccurate reading?

@Buckle64, a warm welcome to our Community! Sorry for the delay in my reply.

Let me help you with your distance recording with your Charge 2. Your device will detect the movement on your arm and translate that movement into steps. Taking into consideration that the distance is calculated by multiplying your steps times the stride length then missing steps may affect this measurement. There are situations in which your arm may be still but you could be moving or walking. This may happen when you are pushing a cart or holding bars while walking or doing treadmill. For added sensitivity you can try wearing your device on your dominant hand but select that hand as non dominant on the device’s settings to make it more sensitive to movement. Also make sure your hands are moving so the device can properly track your steps. You can read more about distance calculation here.

Let me know how it goes.
