Charge 2 side button no longer working and can't sync

Over the last week the button on the side of my Fitbit has not been pressing in, it also cycled through the various screens several times. Today, despite it being charged over the weekend, the app cannot find the device.

Let me help you with your unresponsive Charge 2. For the button you can clean the button area with cotton and rubbing alcohol. After this use compressed air at a distance to clear the area. Finally restart your device. Regarding the syncing issues please follow these suggestions.

Considering others had the issue and the solution was that they had to buy a new one. I'm not exactly thrilled.
