Charge 2 steps are different than from the app

Everyday when I sync my watch the amount on my watch screen is different from what comes up on the app. It normally adds steps but sometimes takes them away.

This is very annoying as when in challenges it's not accounting my steps properly.

What can I do about this as it happens daily.

@sheepie10 It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community!

Let me help you with your steps not being the same on the app and your Charge 2. This is odd. Do you have any third party app linked to your account? Do you manually log any activities? These scenarios will change the amount of steps and manually logged activities won't count towards challenges. You can also try restarting your tracker. On your phone log out from the app, restart your phone and log back in.

Let me know how it goes.

I tried everything you suggested and the same thing kept happening.

I thought that maybe it was because my charge 2 was a few years old, so this week have bought a fitbit versa 2.

The first day I used it the same thing happened. I had done 15,034 steps on my watch and when I synced it with the app it first of all did that many steps and then changed to 16,241 straight after. It also changed on my watch. I rang fitbit today and spent 45 minutes on the phone trying to sort this out. I have restarted my watch, logged out of the app and back in and uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. My watch and app are up to date. Tonight I went to sync my steps on the app and I had done 14,294 on my watch and it synced that and then straight after changed to 15,505

I am so upset as I have paid for a new watch and it still won't work properly. I have started a fundraising event from July to September where I have to do a million steps. I am using fitbit to track my steps and so far it has given me more steps than I have actually done.

This isn't fair for the people who have sponsored me.

This shouldn't happen and there is no point in me having a fitbit to track my steps if it just keeps adding steps on when I haven't done them

Please can anyone help me?

@sheepie10 thank you for the update.

Since the issue persists try clearing your tracker's data but note that you will need to set it up again.

Keep me posted.
