Charge 2 stuck on notification setting (on/off)

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Today after charging, my notification setting on my charge 2 started pulsing on/off/on/off/on/off...….  I can't get a normal screen so the device is useless (it constantly pulses notification on/off etc).  If I hold button it will show me the first menu item as long as I hold it; when I release the button the device is back to buzzing notification on/off/on/off/on/off.  I've tried everything I can think of:  turning heartbeat on and off on my fitbit app on iPhone; turning Bluetooth on/off on iPhone; removing notification from menu on iPhone app.  I haven't yet tried to remove the device and re-add it

Does anyone know a fix for this?  My device is  1-1/2 years old so I am sure it is way past the end of warranty period.

UPDATE:  The battery ran out then I did a restart; now it won't charge and is completely dead.

@Mysqueakycat Hi and Welcome - can you turn off Bluetooth so there is no connection to the device

then I would suggest you check the button as this may have gotten stuck last charge ( make sure its equal all the way around - if need be move it from side to side and up and down with your fingertip)

next ensure you are using a working power outlet (one you normally use) and put back on charge - as it has completely drained it may take up to 3-4 hours to show signs of life - if you can get a charge into it then make sure it is fully charged and turn Bluetooth back on again,

if you get your display back then press the button until you get to the notification page and press and hold until off is showing then release,

you can also try the recommendations in the following Link

https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Charge-2/How-to-turn-off-Notifications-on-Fit-Bit-Charge-2/td-p/1772...

if non of that works give customer support a call as they should be able to give you some alternative suggestions the phone number will appear once the office is open (usually 0800 - 1900 Mon-Fri and 1000 - 1700 weekends in the UK)

https://help.fitbit.com/?l=en_US&cu=1&fs=ContactUs

This is for the UK but should you need to change country scroll to the bottom and look for United Kingdom with a down arrow next to it and click on the arrow now you can select your relevant country and the page will refresh

Kind Regards

Have exactly the same issue. Anyone found any resolution?

@SandeepSeri Hi and Welcome - have you tried the suggestions in the posting below? unfortunately we don't always get replies to say whether a suggestion works or not so we cannot say if a suggestion has solved the enquiry and the person with the issue is happy again or if it hasn't worked we maybe able to provide other suggestions/get more people involved (Moderators and or Community Council members) or as below again direct you to the customer support who can trouble shoot a little deeper into an enquiry by looking into account information.

the only other suggestion is to turn off all reference to notifications - restart the tracker (may need to be done 2-3 times in a row for it to take full effect) and then set up the notifications again

Restart Fitbit

let us know how you get on and if you contact customer support and they managed to resolve the issue again would be grateful if you could post here the procedure to help others with the same issue

sorry I cannot be of more help at this time

Kind Regards

Wayne

I've got exactly the same problem (coincidentally my fitbit is also about 18 months old). My fitbit started doing this on New Years Eve. I've tried the reset  - connected to laptop and not connected. Have also let it run down to no charge then recharge, but it keeps going back to toggling notifications on/off. Button seems to be even all round and clicking in and out ok. Will try customer services tomorrow.

No solutions posted in any of the forum threads work for me (not solved IMO) I’m just leaving my Fitbit on the charger until I can figure out if it is salvageable or not at this point...

@fredletfox Hi and Welcome - as you have tried all in this forum and maybe others as well, have you tried disconnecting notifications from the main menu and are you using then app or the desktop version, yes this may turn off notifications altogether but it may reset it so you don't get the flashing on/off all the time

Mobile

From the main dashboard click on the device picture then select menu items scroll to find notifications and uncheck, return to the main dashboard and force sync your device/stats (I think its drag down) if not click on device picture again and you should see the sync symbol as the first option

Desktop

Click on settings (cog symbol) the select device (charge 2 etc) and the scroll down to menu items and as above uncheck notifications and re-sync via Fitbit connect (if you use a dongle for Bluetooth) (im not on windows 10 so don't know if that will act the same as the mobile app)

if this does not turn off the device notifications you may need to restart device again (details in my previous post)

How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device?

the above may give more advise or settings to change

if all that fails is it within warrantee period can you take the device back as being faulty or have you contacted Customer support who may offer other options

apologies but not meaning to state the obvious but the posts that have been marked as solved may have been so because the person who made the initial report may have had the issue resolved by someone on that thread, by no means does it mean that that procedure will work for everyone as it depends if it is a software or hardware issue - the initial poster has the option to accept a solution if they no longer have that problem the follow link should explain more if needed About Accepted Solutions

finally if you need notifications on your device you will have to set it up again as per the link 🙂

Good luck and hope this helps a little

Kind Regards

Wayne

There are dozens of these threads with the exact same problem... The Charge 2 fails after a year or so and gets stuck like this.  My wife had hers do the SAME THING 2 months ago, now mine is doing it.  Junk now.  Will never buy a Fitbit again...
