I walk my dogs in the park and around the neighborhood a lot. I also go to the gym regularly. I can be on the treadmill going 4mph at 8% incline and max out at 140. I stroll around my neighborhood and range in the 90s-120s depending on the terrain. At times I will look down at my fitbit and it will show my HR at 180. I then have to take it off for several minutes to bring the rate back down. That doesn't always work. Sometimes I put it back on and it jumps right back into the 170s, even if I am standing still at that time. This happens while mall walking indoors too which is hardly strenuous activity. I thought that if I stopped setting it to "walk" before my walks, then it may help because it seemed to happened more often at those times. Didn't help. I walked my dog tonight without setting it to "walk", letting it detect activity on its own and 30 minutes in, I looked down to see 175. I looked at phone and it turns out I was at peak for over 20 minutes driving my calorie burn sky high for strolling around the neighborhood. This is extremely frustrating as it happens almost every time I walk. I do not have this problem on the treadmill. This is my second Charge 2 and it happened with both of them.

@Tee-Nuh It's great to see you in our Fitbit Community! I'm sorry to hear that your Charge 2 displays a very high heart rate during walks.
If you haven't done so, I'd like you to restart your tracker as described in this help article. This will refresh your tracker internally. Once you've done this, make sure that your tracker is not being worn too tight. Finally, please monitor your tracker during the next 24 hours and let me know if the issue gets fixed.
Keep me posted! 😀

Let's go for a walk.
This is how Fitbit Charge 2 sees it since 4 months back:
Restarted, cleaned with alcohol, worn like the instructions...
