Charge 2 unable to track cardio accurately?

So I’m wondering if it’s my charge 2 or all charge 2’s that have this problem. It never can accurately pick up my heart rate when I’m doing cardio. I have tried different tightness levels on the band, various positions on my wrist/arm, and switching between my dominant and non-dominant hand. The charge will either display a hyphen, meaning it’s not able to register at all, or it will be wildly inaccurate. In a high intensity spin class it barely puts me at a “cardio” reading, even when my heart is beating out of my chest. Wondering if it’s my Fitbit or all fitbits that experience this as I am looking for something that can accurately track my work outs.

I have the same problem with my Charge 2. Heart rate seems to work ok when I'm not exercising, But if I look at it while exercising often it will not show any heart rate, or it will say 170 when I'm doing a moderate hike (I'm 71 yr old)  or 96 when I know I'm exercising aerobically. I don't know whether to believe it when it reads 120 or 130 (which could be accurate, but who knows?)

This exact problem makes me want to throw this thing in the garage. It’s supposed to be a fitness tracker, and can do everything but that. Extremely frustrating, to say the least. I guess I’ll have to try another brand next time.
