I have created my sons child account under mine. But when I go to add the device the only one that is in the list is the ACE. Why won’t the others appear? I have accidentally added under mine as that was the only way it would appear in the list. How do I fix this?

Because of the restricted function set, the Ace is the only fitbit that can be used with a child account. There's more on this in this guide: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2347/

Just bought a Charge 2 for my daughter. I think it is rediculous that no other devices but the Ace can be added in the family account. Fitbit should change this asap! How can I send them this request?

@AmberHerrewijn one way would be to vote for feature suggestions to allow use of other fitbits such as this one:
If you want to make a more direct communication then you can contact customer support via: contact.fitbit.com

Ahhh, the old suggestion that goes no where routine. I like it.

I think that would be a good feature as I just brought a charge hr for my kid and their is only the ACE and ACE 2

It doesn't make logical sense to restrict the types of devices that a child can use for Fitbit. It is very frustrating. You either force me to buy a child compliant device or lie about their age to get past the issue. Ridiculous options.

You can put your own birthdate first but you put your daughters' name while registering. After registering, you can go to settings in the fitbit app and change the birthdate to your daughters'.
